I've just played around with the demo for an hour on my PS4.
Initial impressions:
+ The player and kit graphics are excellent
+ The grass looks terrific!
+ Goalkeepers now often take short goal kicks (i.e. passing to a nearby defender) as is becoming regular in real football
+ Great new defensive play by the CPU; a defender shielded the ball from me as it went back to the keeper and it felt realistically done. Similarly, one of my defenders blocked a shot with his body
+ If you try and shoot when your player is not balanced or from a weak pass, this will result in a poor shot; again, it feels realistic
+ Lots more player animations, particularly around physical collisions
+ Online play feels fluid and responsive
> The new default camera is "Stadium". I was a little unsure at first... but I like it
> The PES logo isn't used used and the name is barey mentioned! The move to the new eFootball branding is well underway
> The CPU skill level feels a bit too easy
- Attackers now seem to have way more of an edge over defenders; defenders can often have the ball stolen from them... maybe a bit too often?
- There is no commentary; at least, not in the demo. I don't mind this as I always turn it off anyway, but some folk may prefer having it
- The menus remain weak; they work okay but they aren't brilliant. The main in-match menus remain pretty much the same and are fine, though
Overall... so far, I'm impressed. As ever with PES (eFootball!), on the pitch it feels great.
