Interesting. They look fluke they could shape the hair better than flat irons but depends how well they work. Still, my GHDs I got clearly off the back of a lorry for £40 died after 5 years and I picked up the eclipse for £35 on eBay a couple years and they’ve lasted since.

Only one picture with a flag?

2/10 - you must try harder

The first pic was taken a day before the others and I couldn't be arsed going downstairs, getting the flag, unfolding it and laying it out again

Hobonichi 2019 journal planner and a Doraemon cover for it. Came with a free pen and paperweight too. The company is owned by the guy that did Mother, Earthbound and Mother 3 so there's a lot of themed covers for that but I went with this one.

btw every mouse ever developed by Apple is vastly inferior to a standard two button mouse, especially for that much.

I certainly wouldn't write off an apple computing product (except maybe an iMac because they have a tendency to melt themselves) but their accessories can strawberry float right off in terms of pricing.

Anyway, maf shared some interesting things, had no idea Shigesato Itoi was making stuff. That shop sounds interesting, a creative director for products including sundries and groceries, wat  here buy this notepad, now look at this designer melon. Not that I would be surprised. I got some great stationary stuff from Japan, much of my favourite brands like Pentel, Mitsubishi are Japanese anyway, if not German. They're generally very small with cute details or generally better materials than the western versions over here. The most interesting I have is probably some synthetic brush ink pens for handwriting i.e. Kanji on bamboo paper. Also have some traditional long brushes and ink block for that.

I doubt those watercolours were cheap but I've never really taken to it and have tonnes of Cotman condensed tubes and pallete blocks anyway.

Fair enough, I was just surprised by the price,

I bought the GF an Iphone for Xmas, and got her a White Universal wireless charging pad from Amazon for £15. Even when taking Apple tax into consideration I find the additional £60 a bit much. Does it do anything clever other than Charge your devices?

I haven't used watercolour paints in ages, seeing those ones has got me in the mood to try and find my old paints out.

tbf the gesture and touch controls on the Magic Mouse are strawberry floating ace, I'm not sure if you can actually get them on another mouse that work with them. I bought a Magic Mouse off a mate at work for around £20 though tee hee. The price of the Magic Touchpad is pretty mental (especially the Space Grey one that's £20 dearer) but that thing is basically best in class and you wouldn't know it's a big bit of glass with a motor underneath mimicking a button press and the click noise.

Apparently Iwata was the IT manager of the company too  The watercolours were £29.99 for the pack of 32 so it wasn't too bad. My sister is really into Calligraphy and stuff and has a bunch of those fancy proper Chinese ink brushes.

Nokia used to do battery cases with wireless charging for their Lumia phones years ago. The charging pads for that go for about £4 on eBay now so I bought one of those and an Anker vertical wireless charging stand for about £12 off Amazon. I'm looking forward to seeing the price of Apple's official wireless charger that does the phones, watch and AirPods case :dread:

Wait till he finds out that's a sourced product and not actually an apple design (happened more often than you'd think).

England is pretty good for watercolours still lots of makers here, I got some blocks from a closing down sale that were £12 each for a block the size of your thumbnail, it's the pigment in it.

But the best part about shopping the department stores over there was just how much different stuff there is. Especially really tiny ballpoint pens and 0.3mm mechanical pencils, they love those.
