It smells great, always get complemented on it when I'm wearing it. The previous bottle I had lasted me at least ten years. Ran out the other week and I went to buy more then I saw the price :dread:

What a purchase that was. Everything from Bottecelli to Nate Dogg's blowing my mind.

I've long had Bose as my go-to headphones. Had a pair of OE noise cancellers back in the day (until the plastic strap broke :( ) and now have a pair of SoundSport earbuds which are strawberry floating ace.

Clearly...

They're not your AAA grade studio headphones but they're good quality consumer level gear. The top level stuff is clearly overpriced, but for headphones coming in around £200 I don't think there's many brands that outperform them. They're certain not on the level of something like Beats which are uniformly bad for the price.

Yep this ^

BOSE are not in any way terrible, but their accuracy is gooseberry fool and their stuff is often way overpriced.

I am a little out of the loop to be fair. Back in the day though...

I've actually forgotten what brand my main set are these days. It's a sound research lab in the US who developed and sold sets to fund their research. They're reet good.

EDIT: PSB

The M4U 2s. And they're Canadian, apparently.

Is this actually based on anything at all or is it just some internet lie people keep perpetuating despite them making really good gear for a while now?

I've got the noise-cancelling QuietComfort 35s and they're phenomenal.

I'd go with Audio Technica, Sennheisser, or something like Shure ahead of BOSE for most stuff. I think where BOSE offer a decent product you will almost always be able to find something that is equal to it performance wise and at a better price.

I have heard good things about their noise cancelling stuff, but haven't tried it myself so cannot comment.

Like I say - Bose equipment is far from gooseberry fool - it is just very rarely the best option at any price point.

I had a pair of Audio Technica and actually swapped them out for my old Bose OEs. Both were good, but I definitely preferred the Bose for comfort and noise cancelling.

I wanted the best noise cancelling headphones I could afford. Two choices were those Sony ones or the Bose ones. Bose were cheaper and had better reviews *shrug* I'm sure this argument cropped up in this thread before and went the same way then too.

The major thing I noticed after how crazy good the noise cancelling is was how comfy they are. First pair of over the head headphones I've used that never end up hurting my ears after a while when I'm wearing my glasses. I can wear them for hours no problem and it feels like they barely have any weight to them at all.

I have Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro Studio Headphones - 250 ohm.

I know little about ohm or anything like that, but the headphones sound amazing. Though, I'm not an audiophile.

I tried the Sony MDR-Z1R recently and they blew me away. I then saw the price and that also blew me away so that was the end of that dalliance with premium audio.

I really do love the design of Beats headphones but the audio is still a disappointment.
