I usually go to the barber's for a proper beard trim every two months (only a tenner) and just maintain it a bit here and there with a trimmer. Tried using scissors but strawberry float that.

Seems alright so far and the comb actually goes up to a decent length for long beards unlike most trimmers I've looked at. Not bad for £17.

I've had 2 of those over the last 7 years or so and for my money they're the best low budget trimmer around. The first lasted 5 of those years and I only replaced it as the battery stopped charging.

Bonus fact: I bought the first one with a £25 Amazon voucher I got from Beta testing Star Wars: The Old Republic. A different time...

Yeah, same here. I've had it for a few years now and it has done a good job, for when I had a longer beard and for my current short beard.

I picked up a bag of 8 disposable razors from a pound shop and just use those whenever I can be arsed to shave.

I have that, I rarely use it tbh, not because it's gooseberry fool, but because when I go to the barbers the guys in there do my beard much better than I do.

Bought one of those about 6 years ago and it's still going strong.

Can't remember the brand of the one I have but I don't like it as much as my old one. It doesn't go as close meaning I have to use it every few days instead of once a week. Can't clean shave either because I get neck rash.

£10 (should be £24.99 but was on offer when you buy a echo device)

Image
£££ Donation

I got a echo after I got a email from Apple telling me that Apple Music is now on Alexa so I wanted to give one a go, I didn’t expect it to be up to much for £30 but I am incredibly impressed, firstly it looks great and next to my HomePod it looks like it’s the same style, it sounds much better than I thought it would, you can speak quite quietly and it still hears you, it plays talk radio (Siri can’t, only via the app) and you can play games

I got the white one for myself and the black one for my partners birthday next month (I never spend very much on him and this is probably the best gift he has had from me ever  ) I also got a plug just to try out

Richard: "Alexa, order me a new flag"

Alexa: "Ordering you a new frag"

*grenade arrives several days later*

I have one of these. It's not too bad. Only place it really struggles with is under my nose. But I can just trim it with beard scissors.

It's handy for trimming those weirdly long hairs I usually get with a bit of beard growth.

Holy gooseberry fool this Remmington trimmer is ace. A steal for 17 quid. So much better than my iStubble that was at least £40 I think. I was going to go to the barbers this morning to get my beard trimmed down but it's Friday and there would be a queue so I just did it myself. Actually managed to do a decent job.

I used that little mini trimmer that pops up to do under my nose and it worked pretty well.

I may need to pick one up as I've been wearing stubble for about 8 months at least and at the moment I have to run a 10 metre extension reel into the bathroom to use a hair trimmer

I also haven't bought new Gillete M3 blades since 2008 :dread:

The only complaint I have about it is that the plug is a normal 3-pin plug rather than a 2-pin plug that every other trimmer in the world has, so I can't charge it or use it plugged in while in the bathroom.

Conversely I don't have a two-pin outlet and haven't seen one for years so that's a plus for me lol

I've got a small strip light above a big mirror that has one of those sockets built in to the end.

Always afraid of using that, I will probably take a chuck out of it accidently.

I guess I could use a comb under it maybe.

Considering how cheap they are, I am surprised at myself for not having bought one of their special promo tees (DB, SF, anime, etc.) What's the tee quality like? I think one of the reasons I am put off is that the tee looks very boxy; whereas I prefer a semi-fitted look.

The quality is actually superb, the material is comfy and they wash really well (no colour changes or stretching/shrinking).

I used to buy my tees mainly from places such as River Island or Topman, but i've found Uniqlo to be superior despite the lower price.

If you want a slim-fitting t-shirt you're probably better off buying a size lower than you'd usually wear. Uniqlo t-shirts used to be a bit smaller and tighter but I've found the sizing has changed slightly over the years e.g. my medium sized MGS 25th anniversary ones from 7 years ago feel tighter than the medium Gundam one I got the other week
