After the success of my recent New Balance trainers purchase, i decided to get another pair but in a different colour (the 15% off voucher from Schuh i received helped a great deal also).

Where did you order your copy from Richard? I ordered a copy from Waterstones a few days into June, it’s since been in stock to order but I’m still waiting on a dispatch email for my copy, going to leave it a few more days and drop them an email it I’ve not heard anything.

I pre-ordered on Amazon very soon after it was available and yet it hasn't arrived due to "a delay". That is Amazon-speak meaning "we had loads of pre-orders and didn't buy enough copies to match that demand and, of those copies we do have, we issue them at random. Please understand." I've now got an anticipated delivery date of around 7 July.

I got a delayed delivery from Amazon as well and then it turned up yesterday.

I’ll hold off dropping them an email then  just thought it was odd that it was seemingly in stock after release to order/be dispatched within 2-3 days, yet I’ve heard nothing about my pre order.

Picked up a few things from my trip to Japan and Hong Kong

Got a iPad Pro 12.9in 256gb as a second monitor for my MacBook Air.
Maybe overkill for me as I won't be using it for anything that intense. But I love the big miniLED screen and and it was tax free in Hong Kong Apple Store...saved £400
Image

Also won that Lapras plush from a claw machine in Akihabara in Tokyo. The odds of winning are so high in Tokyo not like the scam claw machines over here. I had it gripped right around its neck lol
Image Image

Got a pair of new trainers for the gym. These were £120 in Tokyo but in the UK the Vapormax are £210!
Image

Also got some models including a model of a Cathay Pacific Boeing 747, some Peanuts (Snoopy) figures, a Shinkansen N700s train model and a random anime character called Chainsaw Man lol.

Image

A rice cooker from Zojirushi for £190. It’s one of the best Japanese rice cooker brands out there. Luckily the voltage and plugs in Hong Kong are the same as that in the UK. SO full compatibility :)

Picked up this exclusive Pikachu plush from the Pokemon Cafe in the Pokemon Center in Tokyo too. However the food in the cafe tasted terrible although it was nicely presented in a Pokemon theme

That pikachu is awesome, I wanted to go to the pop up Pokemon centre which appeared for a time at Westfield London a few years back, but when I went there the queue was just insane so there was no point in even trying to gain access.

They might as well have just opened a permanent one in the West End like Lego and M&M's have.

Bought some gear for my holiday, including a pair of Jordan 1's. Got a red Nike t-shirt and black North Face shorts to match.

Thanks glad you like it. They actually opened another pop up last year at the Excel in east London during a huge Pokemon game event. This one was much much bigger than the Westfield one and very well organised. You only had to book an entry time and walk in.
In Tokyo they had sold out of the exclusive Pikachu but luckily I got into the cafe section of the Pokemon Center which is usually fully booked a month in advance as I turned up before they closed and managed to buy this Pokemon Cafe exclusive Pikachu.

That reminds me of a fire orange and satin black (black swoosh etc) that I was looking at but not in my size. I ended up with these.

Image

The off white "vintage" recreation tone for the soles works well because it will stain less visibly than white and the tongue has a sort of fleece/cordroy ribbed texture and style to it that's unique to the range; and the chenille also adds some dimension. I really like them and the leather is breaking in well.

Image

Not as keen on the jumpman logo so the red satin stitch retro logo on he tongues (which get covered anyway) are nice.

The colours are also evocative of the NES which is pretty cool (the US console was probably styled that way around a similar period to the original Jordan 1s;- these are meant to be the same pattern and a little higher).

Took a while to get used to ankle but I missed proper hi tops in general (wore a pair of 6.0s for years) because they are just so comfy and stable feeling. A little hot at the moment.

I'm not a sneakerhead at all but of the extremely limited nice things I do buy for myself to wear (I mostly print my own clothes ) I don't regret picking them up. My 6.0s lasted strawberry floating ages (just need to reattach the sole to the inner and recondition the leather on those, maybe throw them in the washing machine and get new insoles). Those were a gift, so this was my first ever buy of a fancy pair of trainers.

The current trend for white "clean" trainers i.e. no colours is bullshit. Needing some new shoes I went into JD Sports at some point and it was 98% white trainers, just incredibly boring.

Very nice. There's a bunch of Jordan 1 colour schemes I like. I got Miles Morales vibes from the red/black ones!

Thanks, I figured I was unlikely to see them anywhere. They're women's too, which says a lot about the peculiar fear of colour

100% the swoosh makes you go faster.

(No but they are cushioned hence there's less of a strain on your body if you do power walk like a madman.)

I do wonder to what extent most modern day trainers are actually fabricated from real leather. Probably minimally, I'd guess. They mostly look so plasticized that it's hard to determine what the underlying material is.

Oh, I also got some clothes for my upcoming holiday. Uniqlo do this airism brand which is supposed to help when it's hot and after trying them on they feel super comfy so got some more. In XL though.
