Today I grabbed a few marvel comics and a triple DVD WWE Rowdy Roddy Piper set, apparently it features all of his Pippers pit segments so time to go watch him smash Snuka in the head with a coconut

(spoiler boxes for huge images, no idea what I'm doing with photobucket as I haven't used it before)

Those aren't that huge at all and would have been fine without the spoiler tags.

I don't have mine yet (because it's a recent Qwertee purchase) but am looking forward to wearing it.

I saw XH558 in it's final year at Fairford, they did a flypast with the red arrows.

Used to date a girl who was *mad* for airshows. I never got the fuss, tbh.

I bet I just triggered tf out of PC and he doesn't even know.

I used to love Leuchars airshow as a kid.

Nimrod
Tornado
Harrier
Vulcan
Phantom
Jaguar
Red Arrows (and the Italian version of them too in blue)
B-52
Apache
Migs
Eurofighter

Seeing all those flying in person was so cool.

I usually attend the Royal International Air Tattoo, last year i got to see a B52 for the first time (albiet as a static display), it's an absolute monster!

This year the F35 Lightning is coming back.

How can anyone *not* like airshows :o I get that it can be a bit boring if it's just flypast after flypast but most airshows now throw some variation in so you get aerobatic performances along with the typical classic planes (the battle of britain memorial flight) and the red arrows and the like. I was at the Torbay Air Show this weekend. Eurofighter, Red Arrows, the Aerosuperbatics Wing Walkers, the Pits Special and all the rest of it. Great day. And the parachute display team!

I miss the Vulcan but the Eurofighter is a decent enough replacement closer. The noise :slol:

I think it was last year that they had Sally B flying there, Verm. It's crazy seeing it in the air.

I don't get the appeal of watching some planes fly past, even if they are sometimes flying past in a bit of a pattern

Watching a plane do a loop is like watching a rollercoaster

Agreed, the noise from the Typhoon really is quite something, the ground shakes when it passes by.

I was really annoyed last year, i was there on the saturday and the planned B2 flypast was cancelled due to the weather, the lucky sunday sods got to see it too which made it even worse!

But yeah, the B17 was certainly pretty impressive.

Another of my faves was that blue camo liveried jet Ukraine brought (can't remember the name but it's the same as what Russia uses).

I live in Farnborough so get the Farnborough airshow every 2 years, the planes pretty fly over my house which is nice although no red arrows this year (they do fly in alot over the course of a year) seems the areas they can perform in have been tightened alot after the Shoreham tragedy.

They tightened the rules up a *lot*, but they loosened them up a little a few months ago when (shock horror) it turned out that the pilot was a complete moron and doing moves he shouldn't have been doing too low and in the wrong place.

That incident was right outside my town and yes the guy seemed to be a total moron for what he did, and unfortunately wasn't high as a kite (cough) just stupid. I used to get the drive in to school on that road as well. Imagine witnessing that as a kid, if you are lucky enough to survive, seeing a bloody fighter ploughing through a normally humdrum road of traffic surrounded by views of the hills and lots of rabbits. I'd probably never go outside again. It's like bloody Donnie Darko.
