The quality is actually superb, the material is comfy and they wash really well (no colour changes or stretching/shrinking).

I used to buy my tees mainly from places such as River Island or Topman, but i've found Uniqlo to be superior despite the lower price.

If you want a slim-fitting t-shirt you're probably better off buying a size lower than you'd usually wear. Uniqlo t-shirts used to be a bit smaller and tighter but I've found the sizing has changed slightly over the years e.g. my medium sized MGS 25th anniversary ones from 7 years ago feel tighter than the medium Gundam one I got the other week

Apparently tees can shrink from anywhere between 1 and 3 cm over time, so the tighter fitting older tee could be down to that.

Ta both for your thoughts and tips! The Hokusai Blue collection is tempting my inner weeb so hard right now. (And the free returns mean I can buy 2 to test fitting and not lose money!)

They last ages. Just buy a size down. Yes they're box cut American style shirts but ocassionally the fit is different for the shirt design. The good thing about box cut shirts is the lack of side seams makes them more durable and easy to stitch back up if needed and you can just size down for a tighter fit. With a fitted tee you can't do that. Jersey fabric naturally stretches, what's important is that the shoulders fit.

I got mine in Japan so they were probably made smaller.

PlayStation Classic (Mini) from Simplygames turned up, had been waiting for it to drop in price since cancelling my pre-order and they had it for £36 so that was my biting point. Just waiting on my 64GB USB Drive to get delivered from Amazon as I have 50 games ready to pop on it :shifty:

And can see why whichever user it is on here collects 50p's.

Found an old 2012 Olympic football one, uncirculated in the card which has seen better days but no tears/rips to the card so stuck it on Ebay, just under 4 days to go and its already on £15 :slol:

I opted for the Great Wave (L) and Fuji (M) pocket designs. I will keep whichever fits best. Also picked up a couple more New Era caps (Yankees Desert Island and a grey Engineered Fit), and Yves Saint Laurant Y EDP. Was also thinking of getting YSL La Nuit de l'Homme, but only because it was such a good deal (£40 for 100ml EDP). Decided not to in the end as, after testing it out at Boots last week, I failed to see the fuss.

One thing that interests me about caps is they are mostly all now made in China at the same factories. I got a catalogue the other day that is just full page to page of embroidered caps with random big names on them (think they're actually real examples since it was so diverse). Basically a "design your own cap" company with a minimum order of around 144. Per unit cost is likely around £2-3 each ex VAT at most, probably less at 1000x etc. It's all about the details you can add to make them look more expensive but there are some pretty neat ideas like brands sweat bands, inner tape, fabric label, embossed buckle, enamel, baremetal, nylon or sewn holes etc. They even do an embroidered top button. Learnt all the terms for various parts of a cap which was interesting.

Quality of the embroidery based on the digitiser's work varies massively though with caps. It's all machine embroidered of course. Seen some really awful stuff that shouldn't be on the market but oh well. There's a real art to designing the stitch, it's not just an automatic 2D logo thing. You have stuff like backing and tubing to consider, 3D effect stitches etc.

Maybe I'll get into it some day.

New Era ones are made in Bangladesh. I'll take a shot of my various different types tomorrow. See if there's anything like them in your catalogue. My faves are a stretch suede and 'Diamond Era' fabric.

I ummed and ahhed at that for the longest time. I may yet get it, but I have *a lot* of all over print style tees (from Threadless) already, and so fancied something different.

Got my tees. Are all their print tees printed on the same style of tees as the Hokusai collection? (With the textured reverse/underside?) If so, I can see myself getting a couple more. Legit impressed. (Only downside being that both the L and M fit, so I'm keeping both )

Sadly not all of them, no. It's probably for the best, I can't afford a full new wardrobe!

I picked one up from the Sakagura line, with the cherry blossoms on the pocket (lush, btw), and that one has the same texture, but the Splat-roller and Chain Chomp ones I bought don't.

Having a shop in the city centre is going to be the death of me! :slol:

When I first saw the price of their tees: Oh cool! I can get a great tee for around £13! *checkout basket* How the strawberry float did I spend £30?!

Ta for the info on the tee material.

Annoyed I've missed out on this one:

Love the shapes and material on this pocket design:

I have no idea what this thing is, your description tells me nothing, it's like that bit in Speed 2 where Willem Dafoe uses a 'fibre optic convertor'. ;)

I'm guessing it's like a... electronic oil burner?

My third Uniqlo purchase. Held off buying the large Great Wave tee for the second time.

My £40 YSL Y 100ml EDP came through the post. Looks legit. Smells exactly like it did on Boots' sample strip (one spray and I could still smell it this morning), but... on me, I think it's too sweet smelling :fp: One for the colder months, I guess.

My 2 New Era caps came through as well. Engineered fit is fine, but the Desert Island one :x

Image

The blue looks practically black. I was annoyed as I'd bought it to go with a couple of patterned blue/white short sleeve shirts I have, and while I'm still annoyed it won't go with those, it *will* go with the Uniqlo tees. So I'll keep it anyway. But that's the first time an online purchase has deviated so wildly once it reached me. And I'm putting it down to a error on the website's part and not on my monitor setting.

Ahaha apologies...it's a diffuser that emits water vapour into the atmosphere. You add a few drops of essential oil into the water and it makes your room smell really nice and has many health benefits too depending on the type of essential oil you use.
It's kinda like a scented candle.

Navy is a tough one. Levels, shadows and mid-tones get boosted so much on online images these days to make them "pop" that it will come out that way but really it's "not black" which nearly always means "slightly blue black". I.e. "off-black".

Best thing is probably to try and find some IRL shots of the thing on instagram or google images if anything claims to be navy.

Take it from someone who once had to identify one of about 30 different possible colour codes for this:

Image

And yes, that is Gordon Ramsey, and no, I have no idea why he's in this picture.

Conversely, I've taken photos of a shirt I did recently with a mobile that refused to come out anything but black... I have to change the white balance to 100% cold to make it even slightly blue.

Oooooh that's a tricky one. I'd probably get to either of these from that as a sample:

Probably the darker half actually.

What did you go with?
