Tried olives several times. Never worked. Mushrooms are a recent victory for me! And I’ve always loved pineapple, including on pizza and burgers.
Oh yeah, it was a taste thing for me too but I somehow also just got used to the taste after a bit and now I like them. Brains/people are strange.

I’ll give Cauldron a go if I see them, but my brain is very firmly set to the ‘burgers is meat lol’ way of thinking, and I doubt I’m pushing myself over the edge soon so I don’t know if that’ll change soon to be honest. I did find a soy burger that was perfectly edible a while back - it looked nothing like meat yet red squirted vegetable juice all over the shop, doing a number on my baking tray. What’s the point of trying to emulate blood if you’ve already done a shoddy job of emulating the look of the rest of the thing?
No worries! Yeah, I totally get it, I had the same mindset for quite a long time. And again, I'm not suggesting there's anything inherently wrong if it works for you or that you just need to get over it and eat stuff, just that time can change things, I guess. I agree with the weird attempts at emulating "bloody" burgers - I never really liked that sort of thing as a meat eater anyway. One of my favourite things about eating more veggie stuff is how my food isn't anywhere near as "drippy" as it used to be when it comes to things like burgers. I also feel like it's a bit of an unnecessary step too far that strays more into the "why would you want that?" argument that Photek brought up. But I guess maybe some people like it. Speaking of -

Not a problem - I probably could have replied in less of an on-the-attack way, apologies. Sometimes feels like well-trodden ground but that's probably my own frustrations - probably shouldn't be discouraging people from asking questions!
