They are very good, though I'm positive they're more salty (I haven't checked precisely). Personally I would have prefered a vegetarian version to add butter to the pastry.

They're way better than the normal ones but are just awful if they're cold, which they often are when I get to Greggs just before they shut.

Quite a lot of plant based meat alternative options end up being fairly heavy on the salt content which is one of the things you need to be wary of

I’ll let somebody else put this in the no context thread. (The first part of that sentence too if you want.)

They are amazing. Not so keen on the steak bake though, I prefer the Co-op bakery ones.

This much is true. I prefer them to the "original" ones.

Strangely I had a fairly hated conversation with a work friend about this today who has watched The Game Changers and it's now the prophecy on which he is being his life. He's gone Vegan because meat is poison, he's also distilling water, juice fasting and going from homeopathic treatment. Any evidence based decision was killed with "You have to watch the Game Changers", "they would have performed teen times better on a plant based diet" and "Western medicine teaches doctors to think in a certain way".

Don't get me wrong I'm not anti vegan at all, I have and continued to make several changes to my eating habits since reading about the impact of the meat industry, I just think the argument is flawed.

Do you guys have any websites/cookbooks for veggie/vegan recipes? I got Meera Sodha's East for Christmas which is great, lots of exciting recipes and most are fairly quick to make as well. But any recommendations would be great to add to the veggie repertoire.

Everyone (whether veggie or not) should own HFW Veg Every Day, it's a brilliant book. Delia's Vegetarian collection is also good and Crank's Bible is also very good but kind of old and maybe hard to get hold of.

Otherwise, I tend to buy books based on the regional type of food as opposed to specifically vegetarian. My favourite book in the world is Zahav by Michael Solomonov because I love middle eastern food and there are a lot of veggie recipes in it.

And probably the greatest veggie recipe in the world is

I picked this up last week based on your recommendation. Looks like some really interesting stuff, making bosh burgers tonight.

The Green Roasting Tin: Vegan and Vegetarian One Dish Dinners

I've really enjoyed recipes from this, and also adapted lots of them to use as ideas for veggie/vegan flavour combos on other dishes.

It's also split into vegetarian and vegan sections, both then further broken down by time taken to cook, which is handy.
