Vanquish -PlatinumGames-

Saw this for a tenner instore at HMV, both formats. Probably been that price online for a while now.

And I brought it up to demonstrate that even if the combat had any depth it'd be inconsequential anyway, and neither ninja gaiden not dmc can be played in such a manner. You probably can't get past the first level of gaiden without learning write a lot about the combat system.

You can't in Vanquish on Hard.

And it does, because your score suffers if you stay in cover.

Also, DMC and Ninja Gaiden aren't shooters.

Pretty sure you said yourself you have to play it as a cover shooter on hard.

And the scoring is system is broken. It doesn't give you any points for doing a melee in the air and other rather extravagant moves. You can get more points just by jumping around and shooting.

And I never said they were shooters. Someone said that Vanquish is the DMC/Gaiden of shooters which is absolutely untrue. Vanquish is as deep as a puddle with a load of pointless moves which only matter if you care about the broken scoring system, the others are games which will chew you up and spit you out unless you learn their combat.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is, you should all stop having opinions which are different to my own.

God Hard, yes. And I said that as a complaint. It's perfect on Normal and Hard. And Casual makes you feel like a flupping superhero.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think its scoring is broken at all, and it's deeper than you and some other people are giving it credit for. I'm not about to link to a load of YouTube videos because I've got better things to be doing with my time, but there's a reason the strategy guide for the game is an enormous, glass-coffee-table-breakingly thick tome.

830,000 copies sold (shipped) according to Sega's latest financial report. It was also highlighted as one of the strong performing games (alongside Sonic Colours and Iron Man 2) which contributed to a rise in profits for the company. Great news for a spectacular game, and a nice to see all those people who claimed it 'bomba'd' put right

Holy strawberry float why did I wait so long to play this? I bought this last April (2011), played it once for 20 minutes late last year and just stuck it on yesterday cos I was bored. IT'S strawberry floating INCREDIBLE :wub:

Played it three hours straight last night. It's been a long time since I've been attached to a game for that length of uninterrupted time. Unfortunately I won't get to play it again for another two week as I'm off traveling tomorrow. :fp:

One of my favourite games. It does get repetitive, so you've probably seen all the game has to offer, but great fun. The bosses were a favourite of mine and the sliding around dodging attacks, pretty cool mechanic built in to stop you over using it too.

I played it alot, then traded it in as part of the game bonanza! :fp:

I buy and trade a lot of games, vanquish is one of the few I have traded and regretted. I should ebay and see if I can get a copy.

Better than gears and binary domain easily for me! The gears mp makes it difficult to compare and make a like for like comparison of the overall package, But for sure, considering single player only, it's better than gears and certainly better than binary domain.
