Let's not get into comparison guff please. Both games are meant to run the same. Which after Bayonetta is great news for both consoles. I must admit to liking L2 for boost instead of LB.

"First fifteen minutes" on Eurogamer:

Looks pretty good, except for the vaulting animation which looks oddly shonky.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I downloaded the PS3 demo yesterday, and i'm very impressed, its very kinetic and fast-paced. I feel like its a combination of elements from Zone of the Enders, Gears of War and PN.0.3, which can't be bad.

Quite, but you've gotta love the way Rik set it up to fail.

So as not a fan of Bayonetta, although respecting what it is, I tried the Vanquish demo.

First though how much of an inspiration have Metal Gear Solid and Dead Space been? I was shocked at the MGS'esque presentation and the Dead Space character design. Doesn't bother me at all though...because the game is brilliant. It's a pure arcade game in a complex virtual world.

Considering getting this now.

Just been playing the Vanquish Demo off XBL.

I like. I like a lot.

8-)

Reminds me of the same kind of bonkers fun that is Lost Planet 2.

Visuals are very impressive - tons of particle FX and lots of big explosions. Colour me intrigued enough to be tempted towards the full game...

I think I will pick this up when its £20 or less. It is good, but I cannot say I am really into the third person shooter genre and there are many other games out this year that I would prefer to buy full price.

Played both demos, not any real differences.

Comes down to pad preference and the fact that the PS3 version has no 1080p mode, so Xbox 360 it is.

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is from ZOE that comes across, I think its the dashing and mobility of the suit, and the general japanese school of mech/armour design. But its all good.

Need to play the demo properly.
As soon as the download finished I started playing - died with twenty seconds so did the tutorials but have been robbed of any time to go and play the main game demo yet.

My mate text me saying it's identical to Gears of War... My response? Shutup!

This is a bit bonkers, not really sure what I was doing but it it sure looks nice and feels smooth. Characters are a bit stereotypical but that does not stop it being fun. Like how when your in cover you can smoke a fag and then toss it away as a distraction I guess but I am sure its more cosmetic. Not sure about the controls on PS3 version I tried will give it a bash on 360 to see if it fits better. Overall it has a similiar feel to bayonetta of over the top stylised action let's hope it's a little friendlier to play as I found the boss a real pain.

It's cocktail time!. Then again when isn't it.

The demo was fantastic, I must say.

Really reminded me of Wet with all the slow mo, actually, only, much faster, much better and it's not just a series of kill rooms.

The bit with just loads of robots at the beginning was a wee bit dull but it really picked up towards the end. I think it'll be a bit like Bayonetta in that as you learn moves and stuff it'll be a lot better. For example once I meleed a robot and all he did was some poncey-flip kick. The next time I tried it he smashed the hell out of the thing. Just wouldn't stop pummeling him.

One to keep an eye on for sure. I can live with not having it at launch though.

Just got round to playing the demo and my god, this is perhaps the greatest thing I have ever played!

Just got off the Xbox and to say I'm blown away is an understatement. The sheer insanity of what was happening on the screen knocked me for six. It just kept building and building to that climax, strawberry float. Having had a wank today, not sure which one was better but both hit the right spot. This IS the spiritual sucessor to PN03 and what . I felt so cool, hitting the left bumper and smoking a cigarette while a 50 FT robot was firing everything and the sun at me. The controls were perfect, I was flipping and connecting moves with minutes of play. I do hope there is emphasis on score attack as I'm sure that will add the replayability the game deserves

Calling it, GOTY
