Got stuck in some scenery for a bit. That was fun. By the time I got free, I was out of area. Could make no sense of the map. Tried dropping a pin for direction, but the Invert-Y option seems (insanely) to apply to the map too, which makes it almost unusable. Followed my marker, ended up further out of area, died.

What’s the difference between this Preview version and it’s Early Access release back in March on PC?
So yeah, got up at 11:30 and this went up at midnight, It downloaded really fast, I was in a game by about 20 past. Mate had done the same thing so we played duo's from the start. Takes about a 2 matches or an hour or so to fully get the controls but on the whole its normal enough bar the double tap of left trigger to first person look down a scope.
Looks wise it's easily on par with at least medium settings, apart from the glaring pop in from the plane jump, in the game itself the draw distance is vast. Enemies can be seen from miles away so that they only take up a few pixels, buildings too are drawn in from a mile, grass of course is shorter in draw distance but still far enough that you can hide in it effectively. I like that they have the base map and the sunset variant, I heard the fog map is in rotation too but didn't see it last night.
As for the performance its a mixed bag tbh. As Monkey stated, the frame rate jumping from plane is horrendous, now Its not as bad on X1X as it is on base Xbox but still poor, again in the game itself it irons out a lot of drops, running in the open is perfect, as is shooting, built up areas created some judder and made looting a bit of a problem. Now I can't tell if it got better or if I simply got used to it but for the last hour of play, no slowdown as such hindered my aim or playing it in general. That said, if they could iron out the performance and maintain how it looks I'd be extremely happy with what is here.
It's PUBG and I've been watching it for so long, playing a game made me quite giddy.
I should have this tomorrow and will give it a whirl. I expect to be as gooseberry fool at this as I am at Fortnite in solo mode (I've had 5 wins in Team mode but I just suck so much solo as I get bored and just end up trying to cut down a load of trees so I can build a ramp to the heavens and try and cover the largest area I can but people keep mercilessly killing me, I have no idea why I can't wave a white flag to tell people I'm just cutting down trees and have no intention of killing people even if I dance they still kill me the strawberry floaters) but I'll give it a go and fail like always.
