It's such a shame no one's been able to capture that classic PES feel with analogue control and dynamic animation/physics.

:(

Lunchtime games at work were epic. We had tournaments going, and every Sunday we would all get together and play for hours.

Truly one of the greatest games I've ever played.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Technically, FIFA 14 is light years ahead of PES 6, but it still hasn't matched that classic PES feel. They're slowly getting there though.

Goal Storm / ISS Pro / Pro Evolution Soccer was definitely my favourite series on the PlayStation / PSone. PES 2 was the ultimate version and it still plays well today. One feature that stands out is the replays as you can view the build-up before the ball hits the back of the net ; unlike the latest version in which ou can watch about four seconds.

The PlayStation is a little unfashionable at present as it's not quite old enough to be considered 'retro' by some people, and the early polygon graphics can look very dated. But there are so many great games to replay that I think it'll only be a short time until it becones more popular as a collectable.

Only really got my first taste of PlayStation when I moved away for uni in 2000. All my mates till then had been sliding away from gaming, but we still had N64s and spent most of our time playing Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong etc.

One of my uni flatmates had a PlayStation which is where I first encountered Metal Gear Solid. Absolutely loved what I saw, so I picked up a PSone on launch day along with Marvel Vs Capcom, Tenchu 2 and Final Fantasy VIII. Fantastic machine, with some utterly amazing games. It just a shame I took so long to get on board with it, but by the time I did there was already a sizeable library of titles for me to get my teeth into.

Going forward I've had every PS system since apart from Vita.

I just could never get along with PS for some strange reason. My main gaming machine around the PS1 was the N64, and PS2 it was Dreamcast/Xbox

I was/am a die-hard SEGA Saturn fan who dismissed the PS1 until I randomly played Tekken in a hospital ward and then bought one a few weeks later.

As a sega fan I wanted a Saturn after my 32x, then I played a playstation on launch day in dixons (didn't know anything about the console) and was utterly blown away by it. That demo one disc, wipeout and toshinden, strawberry floating incredible to me being so used to virtua racing. I got home and spent the rest of the day enthusing about it to my mates, most of whom had wanted saturns and n64s..

Every one of them got a playstation 8-)
