Playstation 3 Questions

This is kind of a follow up to my previous thread when I told everyone that I now own a 80gb PS3.
I have some questions that need answering.

1. Is the PSN store always so slow? I'm downloading the Little Big Planet trailer from Leipzeig and it's taking forever!
2. What PS3 exclusive games (already released) do people recommend I buy/rent? I already own Metal Gear and Ratchet & Clank.
3. Apart from LBP and Home, what PS3 only games are arriving soon? I know about Motorstorm 2, Gran Turismo and Resistance 2.
4. To go with Q1, will I get faster download speed if I use a wired connection or is it the same with wireless?
5. Can I add some of you to my PSN friends list?

Yes it is slow.

2. What PS3 exclusive games (already released) do people recommend I buy/rent? I already own Metal Gear and Ratchet & Clank. Uncharted Drake's Fortune, Ridge Racer 7, Resistance FOM, Ferrari Challenge and Time Crisis 4 are the best imo.

3. Apart from LBP and Home, what PS3 only games are arriving soon? I know about Motorstorm 2, Gran Turismo and Resistance 2. inFamous, White Knight Chronicles and Valkryia Chronicles.

4. To go with Q1, will I get faster download speed if I use a wired connection or is it the same with wireless? Wired works much better but the downloads are still very slow.

MotorStorm, Uncharted, Time Crisis and Heavenly Sword's alright too.

3. Apart from LBP and Home, what PS3 only games are arriving soon? I know about Motorstorm 2, Gran Turismo and Resistance 2.

Killzone's out next year, GT is a long way off though, Fallout 3 is definitely worth a look.

A little faster maybe, but the downloads are always very slow, I'm not sure why this is.

5. Can I add some of you to my PSN friends list?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realise you were asking for PS3 exclusives, Fallout is on 360 and PC too, dunno why that'd be a problem for you though.

Uncharted, Everybodys Golf World Tour, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Everyday Shooter (PSN), Pixeljunk Eden (PSN).

Wipeout HD (PSN).

2. Singstar and Buzz!

I'd never even considered Singstar for PS2 but when a mate of mine told me it was good fun I thought I'd give the PS3 version a try. Even my wife was dubious about me buying it. We're both so glad we bought it now. It's brilliant fun, even when sober! The ability to keep video clips & photos and upload them to Singstar online makes it even more fun.

Everybody's Golf is a rather good exclusive.

And feel free to add me.

Uncharted is a steal at budget price and Everybody's Golf World Tour will keep you going for ages with the online tournaments.

I used to think the PSN was always slow too but it isn't. I have a 10Mb connection and used to get about 100kbs download speeds from the PSN on a good day, sometimes worse. I then decided to switch to wired and now I'm getting VERY fast download speeds, about 1MB per second which is as fast as my connection works.

That's a 10x speed increase from switching to wired. It's not just me either i did some research online and it looks like a common problem with the Wifi cards in the PS3, they're just really slow. If you don't believe it try it and see the difference for yourself. Wifi should only be used when you really can't go wired, like if your modem/PS3 are in different rooms. My modem is about 10 feet away from my PS3 so it definitely wasn't a signal strength issue, which was always on 100%
