I have to say, I think the console is in rude health at the moment. more cheap games than you know what to do with. Loads more exclusives on the way.

Five years of being one hell of a console.

I picked one up recently and the back catalogue of games I have to get through is ridiculous. And almos everything is sub £20.

Until Dawn.

At which point everything goes up in price?

Should I be worried that my avatar seemingly changed from the default cat(?) to a square-headed smiley face? Is that something they've done on their side? I've had no e-mail about another IP accessing my account... my password is unique to my PlayStation account. I have no card connected to it. I couldn't even figure out how to change my avatar when I was looking earlier.

You might not have a card linked to it but you have whatever games you own digitally and would be a shame to lose them if someone did gain control of your account. I'd consider changing the password in case and if you haven't already, 2 step verification wouldn't hurt.

I have 2-step on, which makes it all the more curious. I haven't changed my password yet, I was hoping there'd be a flurry of people it had happened to so I wouldn't have to go through the hassle (relogging in on 3 systems plus a desktop, laptop and phone too). Perhaps I'm just being incredibly lazy and stupid though...

How to change avatar: Select Profile (it's on the top row of PS4 icons) > Click on the three dots beside Set Online Status > Edit Profile > Avatar

I thought maybe yours changed to the generic face because they, for some reason, removed the black and white cat face but I just checked and it's still there.

I looked for ages in the Profile section, thinking that would be the obvious place to do it. Eventually I found an option in settings / account info. So I guess there are two ways to do it (and it still took me ages :fp:). Thanks though!

No worries.

Did the avatar change back, or did you reset the password?

Did they launch the name change thing yet? I've been out the loop for a few weeks.

Yeah I changed it back no problems. Didn't reset password, I didn't get any kind of code sent to me, so I assume (hope) it wasn't someone logging into my account. I'm probably being stupid / lazy though.

Testing ended in November. It'll properly roll out early 2019.

Well, I see The Last Remnant Remastered finally slipped out to release on PS4 these past few days. At £15.99 I wasn't going to say no, so I picked it up. It's nice to have these trips down memory lane scrubbed up and smartened for another outing. It looks great. Sadly, I think the analogue controls are a bit borked at the moment (way too juddery for my liking) and the camera's a bit random. I can't remember if the original version was like this, but you'd imagine someone would have addressed it by now. Hopefully, an update might follow, but I won't hold my breath.

That's a 'watch this space' comment. Surely early 2019 is too early to make any... big announcements?

I don’t have any issues like that. The controls are as smooth as they are for the PS3 version, and I haven’t got any issues with the camera.

My girlfriend and I are trying to beat Cheap Cheap's stage in Parappa the Rapper, but the timing is completely nonsensical.

Parappa is strawberry floating gooseberry fool and I hate it.

Parappa the Rapper always had slightly off hit detection (which is why I thought its sequel was much better) but it was definitely better on PSone than a PS4. Wouldn’t be surprised if input lag on modern HDTVs vs CRT has a lot to do with it as well. Sony could have done more.

Now watch some banana split STILL pick it up from the belt, look at the tag, toss it back on on top of another bag then eventually pick up his own bright blue case and walk off.

I hope he's also standing right next to the conveyor, too, instead of standing back so everyone can see properly and also get their stuff off easily.
