A few people on Twitter have said their trophy level has changed. But the new look trophies will go live with PS5.

I've never liked the look of the trophy art. They look so cheap and tacky.

It means the trophy levels have been divided into a total of 999 levels, depending where you are on the scale your trophy level is either a bronze (levels 1- 299), silver (300 - 599), gold (600 - 998) or platinum level (999).

Each colour category (bronze, silver and gold) is subdivided into three tiers purely to highlight whether you are at the bottom, middle or top of it. Levels 1 to 299 are all Bronze trophy levels. 1-99 is the first bronze tier, 100- 199 is the middle tier of bronze, 200 -299 is the top tier of bronze. If you look at the icons you can see there is a difference between each three.

Ah ok it's an icon for your overall profile then, that makes sense. I thought it was some sort of grading of trophies within a list.

They show the new levels and associated trophy icon. Would have helped if they'd also shown the old trophy scores beside the new ranges, as I've forgotten what my old one was Old method felt a little more... mature. BIG NUMBERS!! don't mean much when you're zooming through them, and don't actually know the nuts and bolts of how the system works.

Do people really care that much about trophies? First thing I did on my PS4 was disable those annoying notifications!

They can be a fun little addition to some games but who gives a gooseberry fool which number you have next to your profile!

One of my mates is obsessed with them, got something like 130 platinums and plays games long passed enjoyment just to get them.

I'm more interested in the percentage connected with the trophies than my trophy level. Like if I get a trophy, I like to check what percentage of people attained the same trophy, or I like to see what percentage got the final main mission trophy of a game.

Yeah I find the percentages quite interesting that's true. I always find it amazing that there are so many games I play where the first trophy that usually requires you to do virtually nothing has been achieved than less than 100% of players. What are these people doing!

On that subject, I think my rarest one is the Blur platinum. Hardly anyone has that from what I can tell.

I have zero interest in trophies, but can see why some people would pay attention to them.

I do quite like trophies, I know when I first got a PS4 I was trying to get as many trophies as I could, but as my collection got larger I just completed the games and platinum titles that are easy or games I actually really want to 100%

I've been playing on PS since the beginning of PS1 and never got a Platinum.

Where's my medal for that level of failure .

It updated in a funny way though, did anyone notice? There was no system update, the console was running a little slow, but then it just suddenly changed...with a connection error or some such.
