System software update 6.50 is out and it includes Remote Play for iOS devices

I think the DS4 only works natively with Sony phones doesn't it?
Or at least that was the case last time I checked.

That's interesting: my brother had been trying to remote play on non-Sony android phones, but couldn't. I lent him an old Xperia so it would work. But that does work with a dualshock. Presumably this would be the same. Quite like the idea of using my iPad as a proxy screen when the TV is otherwise in use.

If you click on it then it will tell you that PlayStation causes cancer, the weather is going to get colder (so stay in and play games) and that Princess Diana would have loved Last of Us 2.

I’ll be interested to see how well the remote play works. I have an iPhone X and often have little to do on my break at work so it might be cool to get 15-20 minutes of gaming in now and then.

There’s a disclaimer on the Remote Play app that states it doesn’t support DualShock 4 pads.

Only works via WiFi too.

So how the fudge do you control it?!

It really is! I just tried to play Spider-Man and it was impossible.

In portrait mode the game appears on the top half of the screen with the controller on the bottom but that’s no better.

My Mfi controller works perfectly, I’m very impressed, it’s great on the iPad but it does not use all the iPhones screen

I hope Xbox follow and do the same, I don’t really ever use my PS4 but wanted to try this out

Without a separate controller only the simplest of games will be plausible with the on screen controls. Anything that requires a bit of dexterity like say Spider-Man where you need both thumb sticks, the triggers and X just to navigate the game world is rendered nigh impossible by on screen controls.

It’s a nice concept but I think DualShock support should be patched in.
