Yeah, I'm kinda surprised that game disc drives are so loud. It's one of the factors that have pushed me towards digital purchases.

The extra noise is so you know it's loading more stuff :shifty: .

Next gen consoles will come with earplugs as standard and a warning sticker.

Funny thing is, of you still have a wii, pop a disc in that drive and see how amazing it is compared to the shite that's in the ps4. It slides in there like butter (context)

Whenever I play Red Dead Redemption, my PlayStation sounds like the XH558 Vulcan doing an aerobatics display.

strawberry floating annoying.

Is there a way to see stats about games you have played from the PSN website - play times, trophies that kind of thing? Or can you only access that sort of stuff from the console itself?

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't even think you can access play times through the console can you?

Oh really, wow that's a bit of a let down! And I thought the Switch was bad in this regard with its "Played for at least 5 hours" vagueness! :lol:

I guess some games with have their own internal timers which you can check. Would have been nice to be able to look at that sort of thing.

Old posts on Quora say there is a way via your PSN profile on the website, but I'm not seeing it. Another way is apparently if you sign up to monthly updates, your total PSN play time, not just PS4, will appear in that. I dunno if that's such a good idea anyway - I got a MyPS4Life email toward the end of last year and... ****ing hell :lol: Talk about an eye-opener. (No one should ever play Dragon Age: Inquisition for *that* long!)

Yeah I've seen a few things from a google search that have led to dead ends. The MyPS4Life thing seems to have been a limited time option as well - doesn't look like you can do that any more sadly.

Just tried to play a couple of games on my PS4 for the first time in a while, and on both of them it wouldn't let me play because it hadn't finished installing (even though they're both installed), and nowhere could I see any install progress or download notification - anyone else have this? Literally can't tell how long I might have to wait before these games are ready to play :?

If I was to buy a digital copy of a game that I have already played the disc version to (such as Spyro the Dragon) does the save and achievement file carry over?

Yes for both but you will have to download the game again AFAIK, unlike on Xbone which doesn't require downloading if installed form disc but switching to digital.

Some games don’t do that annoying enough. I got the three uncharted games on their own not part of the collection and the saves aren’t compatible.

Trophy wise it’s still the same, thankfully.

And I have two Bloodborne games in my PS4 library as I got the GOTY edition and PS plus copy which isn’t GOTY and both were digital. Saving is affected.

There was nothing in storage settings that alluded to any issue, so I deleted and reinstalled the game and still got the same issue. No idea what to do.
