I would suggest make a hard copy of your games wishlist and then add them back when the new service goes live.

Already have. The wording I had (email from Sony) though implied there wouldn't be a new wishlist feature...but hopefully there will be!

There's a wishlist feature? That's one thing that seemed like a baffling omission on my PS4 - where is it? Although not much use knowing now if they're going to remove it anyway  :fp:

Yup! Not sure about access via the PS4 itself but on the PS Store website you can click a little heart icon on a game/DLC/whatever and it will add it to your wishlist. Not sure how long the feature has been around but since I got my PS4 in August 2017 at least

I think there will be a wishlist on the PS5 itself.

FFS. PS4 has decided to stop strawberry floating working at all today. :x

It was either booting to a completely black screen or simply giving no signal at all to the display. Having a look around there are various troubleshooting guides talking about broken HDMI output or resolution issue and to try booting into safe mode, except even strawberry floating safe mode won't display. After getting spare second screen I manage to get it to finally display safe mode on that to find out that apparently a system update has failed and corrupted in some way. :fp: Advice from Sony apparently is to try updating it again - except I can't do that because the piece of gooseberry fool won't turn on! :x

There is a way to update from a USB stick so I try to do that and it seems to be installing fine, then reboots to a very helpful message saying "Cannot start the PS4" - YES I KNOW THAT YOU strawberry floating PIECE OF gooseberry fool! So now I'm stuck with what appears to be a brick of a PS4 with no real clue what I'm supposed to do to fix it. There's an option to "rebuild database" which sounds like fun, apparently it can take several hours so I look forward to trying that and it still not strawberry floating working.

I swear the PS4 is biggest load of gooseberry fool I have ever used from a hardware/OS perspective.

Good news: the database rebuild did not take several hours.

Bad news: it still doesn't bloody work. :x

Can't see any option except for doing a factory reset now. :fp: All of the saves on my main account are backed up to the cloud but I don't think additional accounts are included so my kids are going to be pissed to find all of their saves are lost. :dread:

So yeah had to do a complete reset on it which has kind of worked, it's up and running and I just went through the initial setup fine, except it still won't display on our main TV for some reason! :x

Console gaming, it just works! :fp:

Just to rule it out, have you tried a different HDMI lead?

Yeah tried different leads and multiple inputs on the TV, all of which work with every other HDMI device I own. For some reason the PS4 just won't show up!

On the TV it does work on, try changing the HDCP setting then take it back to the main one

Hollow Knight is great but I've already played it and I've got no interest in Shadow of War so that's another "meh" month for me.

I dunno if I'm being "entitled" but...

It feels like Sony is weakening their service for PS4 customers in order to subsidise their service for PS5 customers.

> Upcoming game Bugsnax - "free" for PS Plus subscribers on PS5, but not for subscribers on PS4
> Huge range of "free" PS4 games - "The PlayStation Collection" - instantly available for PS Plus subscribers on PS5, but not for subscribers on PS4
> Pricing their games the same on PS4 as on PS5 i.e. Sackboy, Spider-Man Miles Morales. The price tickets are ramped up on PS4 to enable the "free" upgrade to a PS5 version.

I guess it's "just business" and they're trying to get PS4 owners to upgrade as quickly as possible, but it feels a bit more stick than carrot. I can't recall a previous situation where games for an older system where released at the same price as games for the new system. I guess the rule to "never buy a game at launch" is becoming more relevant than ever, as I can see many games for current ("last") gen underperforming and quickly dropping in price.

I almost typed up the same thing yesterday (well points one and two, point 3 had eluded me until now), but deleted it in fear of a backlash. But yeah, i couldn't agree more.

Totally agree. I rarely buy games at launch due to how quickly they come down anyways, so, can't say I'd complain if they drop even quicker! Plus, it's a cheap way of getting the free upgraded ps5 version.
