It's one of the best series of the last generation, they are fantastic games. You say Arkane-like, but I think Arkane games actually come off unfavourably when comparing the way people act on schedules and how different events occur! (Which is no disrespect to Arkane, and yes they are similar.)
The prologue training missions are from the first game anyway, they just reuse them in 2 and 3 as the same tutorial (and they are very good tutorials!). So that is literally where to start.

I'm fine with that. I'd rather have solid 60fps than RT with 30.

The cut scenes that go with it seemed very origins in nature, so this makes sense.

Despite their similarities they're both targeting quite different types of experience so I don't think it's a particular negative to say that Arkane games have less scripting of character schedules. Hitman is much more of a tightly configured clockwork construction where the player is given set points at which they can stick a specific spanner in the works to achieve a particular outcome, the fun is in working out how all the parts tick over and what happens when you influence it in certain ways.
But yeah the Hitman games are excellent, anyone who hasn't played them yet should get all over it!
I love how they're letting you bring your previous versions in to one place. It's a great approach to previous games that I wish we could have more of. I'll be buying the first and 3rd games when they're next on sale digitally to have them all in the one place.
It's got that thing which arkane games do so well and I feel is critical to this kind of thing - you can't go everywhere. In other games, like fallout or something, you can go in every single room with very little effort. Here, there's entire areas you don't dare go near (not in a first play at least). It's all laid out logically and realistically, so in your mind the environment is so much more real and fleshed out.
I did the Miami mission last night, and it progressed in what felt like such an organic way.
I went left at the start to scope the outside of the building out, overheard a VIP conversation about getting an arms demo. Stole his disguise, got in to the building, picked up a magazine of the target on the way by chance, then found I could use this to set the targeting of the drone to take the target out for me. Left the building via the car park, saw a mascot asking for a key, got the key but checked his car first, found some plans to get to the other target. Stole his costume, got access to the VIP pit area, scoped that out and overheard someone saying the target has blood samples to cheat, disguised as a medic and then poisoned her drip. Stole a race drivers costume, left via the VIP exit, found a speedboat key near a shop, then left via boat.
And all the bits in between where I was poking about, overheard lots of options for a different approach next time. Awesome stuff
