Is that even a thing that exists in modern computing?

SSDs don't need defragmenting - all it would do it shorten the drive life

Thanks :D .

Sony has advised investors that it is planning for 20% of it's gaming output to be on mobile formats by 2025; and that more than 50% of it's investment in gaming will be on live service games by the same year.

I guess it's no real surprise that the giant publishers in the gaming industry are increasingly targeting the free-to-start-and-then-pay-as-you-play sector. It can be hard to get a hit but, if you do, you're printing money.

...and 25% of Sony's income from the PlayStation Store for the financial year ended March 2022 came from "free-to-play" games on PS4 :o . Incredible when you think that Sony reputedly takes "only" around 30% of the item cost - meaning that the companies publishing those games are getting a much larger amount of income.

This makes it clearer as to the earlier points about Sony's increased focus on mobile and live services.

One game that immediately springs to mind as being pretty perfect for a mobile port would be LocoRoco.

If they’re for real about half of their expenditure going to GaaS then they’re going to be in pretty deep gooseberry fool in a few years.

I dunno, Buff - it seems that, whilst there are plenty of GaaS failures, those that succeed are making massive amounts of cash.

Yeah, they’re the ones who’ve done the sums I guess. It’ll be many more years of Destiny for one thing, which is fine by me.

Buying a ps5 expecting any games was a mistake.

I’m guessing Resi 8 won’t be workable on the old VR headset just VR2?

It’s good we are seeing games announced but I’d like to see the actual VR and it’s power

This is unusual... it's Wednesday and no games have gone on sale on the PlayStation Store :o .

The existing Days of Play offers run through until midnight but no new sale been initiated. Maybe some fresh deals will appear after the Summer Game Fest show? We'll have to wait and see.

Heads-up: The official PS5 DualSense controller Charging Station is £19 at Amazon (saving £6). Become more powerful.

Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 £15.99

Oh no - you see that is quite untrue, Jawa. 'Cos you see, last night, having been interesting in Bloodroots for 2 years, but it never, ever having been discounted, I just stopped waiting and bought it for £12.

This morning, the first thing I saw on my phone when my alarm went was a notification from PS Deals App telling me it had dropped to £6.

Yeah, the deals hit slightly later than usual today, Diceman. You were hugely unlucky with Bloodroots... as you say, it has not been discounted since launching in early March 2020 and then - wham! - it had a 50% discount applied today!
