... . PS4s seem to have been almost as hard to get as PS5s and the Pro version hasn't really been seen in stores for a long time now. I suspect that we won't see the Pro return but it feels like there is definitely still a market for the core PS4.

Current PlayStation Plus (£59.99 year) and PlayStation Now (£49.99 a year)
New PlayStation Online Ultimate (£14.99 a month)

My personal preference would be online play being free and the new, charged package is solely about "free" games and the game library/streaming access.

I will be pissed off if they jack up the cost and that's the only way of gaining access to online play. But, hey, I guess there is a chance they could surprise us! Right! Err... right, guys? .

Genuine Q but what would it take for you to pay for a sub?

I already pay for PS Plus (mainly for the sales), interested to see what they offer & their pricing.

I imagine there will be tiers but depends on what they can offer.
I would pay for a full sub if they gave a bigger selection of the PS1, 2 & 3 catalogue without trophy support, depending on the price (apparently that’s why there aren’t many PS2 games in the store & licensing issues I guess).


I’ve said it before & I’m going to say it again,Microsoft backwards compatibility is sublime. You can tell they worked hard sorting through licensing issues etc & gave a damn.

I'm a bit of a loner in wanting things to stay as they are, aren't I? Quite a lot of good games (and some rubbish) for not much money. With the size of my backlog I don't have the capacity for more, so there seems little point in paying extra.

I think PSNow should be thrown in with PS Plus to be honest at the same price. Or I suppose up to £9,99 is where they’ll take it
