Interesting that they're working on original content next.

According to someone who leaked the recent PS show, and also teased the Wolverine announcement, Bluepoint have 2 current projects on the go: the original game is said to be similar in scope to S-M: Mile Morales. The other is a remake of a beloved franchise.

I'd be happy to try whatever they released, but I hope the original game is truly original and not their take on a already existing IP.

Can't say about Yakuza but it's worth to play Sackboy though.

It's one of my fave platformer games.

Maybe for the "origjnal" game they're doing an Unchartered prequel so Sony have something to tie in with the film? Maybe a smaller, sub 10 hour campaign.

Same sentiment but flipped the other way  Not played Sackboy, but can tell you Yakuza LAD is amaze. Have you played Yakuza games before? If you're a fan, then LAD will blow you away.

But I say don't sweat the small stuff; get one of them now, and then buy the other later in the year, when it's that much cheaper. That'll definitely be the case with Yakuza LAD going by the series' sale history. Less certain with Sackboy and how tight Sony are with first-party sales what with PS5 still being new / Sony wanting all the money.

I'd totally forgotten that existed.

Sony PlayStation wrote:Introducing Game Trials

Ever wanted to try some of the most-popular games from PlayStation Studios before committing to the full game? Well now you can!

Get a taste of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure until 28 October 2021

Head over to PlayStation Store and download your chosen Game Trial. Once you hit download you'll get a limited amount of time to play the game, whether you play or not. Once the time is up you'll need to purchase the full-price game if you want to keep playing.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is a 6 hour trial, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a 5 hour trial and only available for PS5. Game Trial not available on PS4 version. Trial period starts from the time you click "Download Trial" via console or "Add to Library" via web.

Hopefully it doesn't take 5 hours to download. :slol:

Still, a good idea that's hopefully rolled out across the board. I miss demos, and these would be far longer than most were back in the day.

Ooh!

I'll give Death Stranding a try! As I wasn't sure if it is my kind of game but I'll give it a whirl tomorrow.

Starting the timer as soon as you hit download! :fp:

Demos and trials are always a good thing though!

Trials for ALL games was one of the features that showed up in patent papers or something a good while back, that or it was just a regular rumour. Starting the trial when you hit download is stupendously dumb though. I wonder how long before they walk back on that...

Cool idea but ruined by that decision to start the timer when you start downloading. Just make it a three hour demo that only counts down when the game is running if they don't want people playing too much.

Returnal would be a great choice for this kind of thing.

Can’t you just kick off the download from a different account on your PS5 then start the trial on your main account when it’s already installed?

The trial starting when you hit download is very dumb and funny

More Money. More problems. In this case the problem of explaining away suspiciously expensive looking new tech / new hole in savings to other half. And anyway, it's a crap bundle if you were looking to make some money back from selling on the games. Or even playing the games.

Played some of the ps+ golf game this morning. Did the training, then the first course.

Boring shite, stuffy as hell and I hate the stick swing controls.

Deleted.

I think I've hit upon the reason as to why I have barely used my PS5. It's my eyesight.

For years, I've been used to playing games sat at my desk and I'm very close to the (24" 1080p) screen. With the PS5 setup under my living room TV (43" 4k), I'm around seven feet away from the screen and I find myself sitting forward on the edge of the sofa all the time. Watching TV programmes is fine but games often have (tiny) text and symbols to read.

I have some different glasses for "long distance" so I'll try them out - I want to be comfortably sat back on the sofa rather than hunched forward.

Tl;dr My PS5 is gonna collect dust as I use my PS4 for many more years.

Not so much to do with eyesight but I've never been able to get used to playing games in the living room on a big TV rather than at a desk.

Dunno what it is, like you have to move your head or eyes too much. Or maybe I just need an eyetest.
