Still no news yet on how Sony have reduced the (disc version) console weight by 300g! It must be something reasonably significant to account for that weight.

I'm not sure how we have detailed pictures of the updated screw but no idea about the weight reduction .

They probably removed the pre-install of Astrobot. I'd imagine that was pretty heavy.

There's that word again, heavy. Why are things so heavy in the future. Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?!

I heard from the grapevine that this was due this month but I thought they’d announce it first.

Apparently Bloodborne is next :shifty:

Great news about the patch but I've played this and the DLC to death so won't be firing this up again

Perfect for frozen wilds as I've not played that yet.

Great, now that I've finally finished it they give it an update!

There's always NG+ I suppose...

Would love it if Bloodborne does get a 60fps patch, there's really no reason it can't have one by now!

I only just realised that the really neat PS5 start-up sequence only ever happens once; the first time you power on the console.

:( :x .

It's that really cool, swirly pattern and sound, if you'd forgotten. Click the spoilered vid to check it out.

The Switch is the same, with the red background and iconic "click" sound only ever appearing once.

That's a shame, on the occasional time I reset (or there's an update to the OS) I do enjoy the Series boot up sequence. It helps that all the quick resume games remain in that state even with a hard reset.

I missed that because I had the console plugged in to the wrong hdmi input when I first switched it on.

I don't remember if I missed it or not because why would one care either way?

Having to buy a second PS5 due to missing the start up is the real reason the console's always sold out.

I missed it as it was plugged into a capture card and the HDCP makes it so you have a blank screen. strawberry floating HDCP. (you can turn it off, but you need to be able to see the screen to do so, so plug it into the tv first.)

So is Jawa the only person who actually saw this?

The "only once" start-up sequence actually included a subliminal message; the sound included a human voice quietly saying "Buy" and then the particles in the image briefly aligned to form the word "Balan". And you guys all missed it.
