Has this got an equivalent of the XSX quick resume? You can only have one game active/suspended at a time on the PS5 can't you?

More than one? Pass. Not sure why you’d want/need more than 1 thing suspended so badly anyway, but that’s just me.

Me and the wife use the ps5 alternating quite a lot in the evenings. If she's playing it, I'm usually on the pc, then I'll come downstairs and play something, so it would be nice to suspend the other game. It's got a switcher, but that just seems like a quick launch shortcut for the last 3 games played.

Cards is a decent alternative, but it depends on the game whether or not it actually takes you to where you last left it.

Tried that for the first time the other night with The Avengers to get to one of the newer pieces of post-game content. Knowing the game is a rickety house of cards to say the least I didn’t expect much but it totally worked. Well impressed.

Yeah, was impressed with how it was implemented when I used it with Demon's Souls and Miles Morales. I was hoping for something similar in Returnal, but no such luck If they ever make it so you can use it at any point in a game, and not just ones pre-determined by the dev, then it'd be an even better feature. My guess is, that, having multiple games on resume, it's one of the many things on their list to get around to adding.

Yeah this is why I'd like it as well - half the time I come back to the PS5 wanting to jump back into what I was playing only to find the kids have booted up something else and ditched my game!

It's not exactly the same thing but I have noticed you can immediately switch between Netflix (and I assume the other media apps) and a game through the Switcher and both pick up right where you left them.

Mine renews in September and I can't get the offer because it says I already own it. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting a refund or anything.

The small print says "not available to existing subscribers" .

I really like my PS4 and PS5 consoles... love 'em! However, in terms of pricing points and the sometimes shoddy way it treats customers, I am starting to get a bit tired of Sony.

They do the £35 offer every year. Not as good as 50%, ofc, but £35 is still way better than rrp.

On a brighter note, I just got my first "PS5 only" game. Kind of. I picked up Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (due to an Amazon offer) and it includes a code for Spider-Man Remastered... which I'm downloading now .

Edit: Actually, it's definitely not a "PS5 only" game... both games appeared on the PS4 . Maybe one day I will get a PS5 only game .

First game I played on my PS5 was Spiderman but just the PS4 version which I bought ages ago but didn't start as it was too noisy on the Pro. I think that's the biggest draw with the PS5 for me is catching up with some of the big hitters from last gen such ad GOW and Jedi Fallen Order but getting much better resolution and framerates.

Yeah, I've read that the console sure does run PS4 games really well, andy. I haven't tried any older games on my console yet; I believe you need to use a DualShock 4 controller. I'm sure I have a spare one around and I'm gonna dig that out later. I wonder if you can power on your PS5 using a PS4 controller?

You know, having experienced in the Astro game how good the DualSense controller feedback effects are, I'm thinking that using it in combination with PSVR2 could be amazing. That sense of VR immersion combined with the controller feel... wow!
