Dang, Bloomberg has reported that Sony are revising down their console production output on the back of continued parts and logistical challenges.

Seems that the issues causing problems for many folk who are trying too obtain the console are gonna be with us for some time yet. This will probably impact game production, too, with more publishers likely to develop games as "cross generation" in order to reach more potential customers.

Got a Currys VIP code email today. The quesiton is, do I want a PS5 or can i hold strong knowing I probably wouldn't buy any games for it anyway (for now) and it would just be a "Pro PS4 Pro" to me.

On the other hand, I could sell my actualy PS4 Pro to CEX and get about £130 cash for it......

You're gonna buy one at some point anyway, so I say take the chance when it presents itself because there's no guarantee it'll happen again any time soon. (Hello 20% cut production run.) And it's not like buying a game and leaving it on the shelf; PS5 ain't coming down in price in a few months time. Would the £130 be of use? Doubly do it if yes.

Yeah. Worth it to replay all those old exclusives which made use of PS4 jet engine mode and marvel at how PS5 handles them with barely a peep.

(My PS5 makes a barely audible sound while it's running. So not totally silent, but it may as well be compared to OG PS4.)

I'd say it's worth it. I got one a week after launch via EE and I've yet to play a PS5 title on it (something I need to fix ASAP) but have spent alot of time going through the PS4 back catalogue which I missed out on.

Runs super quick and nice and quiet so no complaints there!

Yep, I've still only used my PS5 as a PS4 Pro DX and I'd say it has been worth it for that alone - playing faster loading, often better performing versions of the games I hadn't got to on the last generation has been more than worth the entrance fee

I’m already getting the harassment from Currys from when I bought my Series X at launch.

Thanks for the encouragement guys - I think your all correct, I’m going to want one at some point and the hardware is unlikely to receive a tangible upgrade anytime soon.

Now I just have to face the horror of going to a CEX. Maybe I will just have 2 PS4s and a PS5…

It's on my list for future purchases alongside Ratchet and Clank. Think I'll probably pick both up in the New Year after I get my end of year bonus/I've got both Forza 5 and Halo Infinite out of my system.

Sort of PS5 related - when I plugged mine in, on initial setup, it asked me if I wanted to download the Oddworld remake sequel. Anyway I thought it was a bit hard and fiddly despite loving the first one, but they’re releasing a big free update to it soon.
So umm…yeah.
