I rather hate that this, and the Xbox, are probably going to be pretty tough to get hold of for Christmas and will likely require just hammering F5 on a bunch of sites and dealing with websites caving under the pressure :(

Definetly looking like a pass on getting a PS5 for the time being.

Need to get a new TV for starters, still using a 720p.

For me the main interests were Deathloop and Demon's Souls and both of those are coming to PC. Combine that with the fact I've got a bunch of games on PS4 to still work my way through and I think it will probably be a while yet before I consider moving to PS5

Absolutely nothing there for me for a Day 1 purchase. Very underwhelmed. The PS Plus Collection does nothing for me - I don’t get it really! They are all games from 4,5,6,7 years ago and I’ve already finished them or not interested. Is it to fill a huge gap in launch lineup and assumes people will no longer have their PS4s and are happy to replay these old games? Will they be enhanced for PS5 or just same as on PS4?

I’ve been leaning XBSX for last couple of weeks but not fussed about getting that at launch either.

I’ll stick with my PS4Pro, XB1 and Switch into next year. In 6-12 months both new consoles will have more choice

teh bork wrote:That was rather disappointing. Nothing particularly stood out as must have. The exclusives have done nothing for me either, maybe Spiderman, but depends on the length of the game. Have to say I've been disappointed in a lot of the PS4 exclusives I've played, gave up on God of War, Days Gone and Horizon, so sequels to two of those games do nothing for me. Also the prices for the disc and non-disc editions are too much for the lack of a must have game at launch.

Microsoft haven't impressed me either, though the Game Pass is probably their biggest selling point and gives it the edge over the PS5 at the moment. Think I'll be holding fire for a year and shall see what else comes out.

Agreed

Did it say if that Hogwarts game was timed exclusive or anything like that?

ShopTo site seems to have more or less crashed or run insanely slowly, so I wonder if they're offering pre-orders already.

There definitely seems to be a reliance on old games when it comes to the launches of both consoles. Like Xbox One X, really. I’m sure releasing Spider Man MM on PS4 has also devalued the PS5 offering for some too.

Demon's Souls looks incredible. I'll wait a year to let a bunch of games I want to play (hopefully) build up, wait for a black model to appear and maybe then get one for Christmas 2021. I've got far too much good stuff on my ps4, switch and pc to play for now.

Makes sense that he's only producing it, but that's fine. He's established himself as a god-tier producer after what he did with XIV, so I'll be surprised if this gets hit by significant delays like with XV.

Bit disappointed he's not going to be director, too, especially after Shadowbringers turned out to be the best FF game in 20 years, and better than most before that, too. But it'll be interesting to see who gets the spot.

Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.

So buy the cheaper PS4 version, and upgrade to the ps5 version for free?!
