Seems weird that they're not including a DualShock controller. Limits the possible games somewhat.

Best PlayStation

Hopefully there is an option to have the full SCEE boot up complete with all the noise that goes with it :datass:

Sort of want but no analogue controller & the fact you have to buy an AC adaptor makes it seem a bit... pricey, also Tekken 3 is interesting as I thought they had trouble bringing it to psn due to a licensing issue.
They where probably talking bollocks & couldn’t be bothered.

I still have my launch PlayStation and a shedload of games, so I won't be buying this.

Those pads though, so much nostalgia

£89.99 with 2 controllers doesn't seem too bad to me.

Will depend on the games and the quality of the emulation.

I have that on PS4 to an extent as i'm still using the 20th anniversary theme.

I never had a dualshock for my PS1, my console was an early model from 1995 and so the original controller design was the only one i ever used.

That said, as a result of it being an early model, my PS1 was faulty and would only ever work if i turned the console on it's side (i suspect that's why Sony decided on including a vertical option with PS2).

All about nostalgia I guess, most PS1 owners only had the standard controller, it's more unique as Dual Shock 3 shares the same design, and obviously cheaper to produce.

It's a shame that this rules out Ape Escape though.

Hopefully all the other iconic games are included like...

Gran Turismo
Crash Bandicoot
Wipeout/2097
Metal Gear Solid
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil

I'm kinda excited but also a little unsure.

+ PlayStation Mini!
+ Classic Games!
+ Lovely homage to the original system!
- Nobody would have chosen the original style controllers!
- The PS one design was better than the original chassis :shifty:
- No power adapter?!? Even Nintendo has stopped that pony!

I can guess this will be massively popular - eBay scalpers are probably planning bulk purchases already! - but I don't think I'll be up for this... unless the final game list includes some of my faves.

This looks fun. Jumping Flash and Wild Arms are nice choices and it'd be great if this gave those franchises a shot in the arm again.

Really intrigued to see what Sony do to help the graphics stand up.

The "preloaded" wording sounds like there's the potential to add more games later on...

So, it's £99? Unsure about it. £99 and only 20 games. Seems steep

Unfortunately it seems not, chant'... from Sony's website:

...Software titles cannot be added on via download or any other way. Peripherals for PlayStation® such as Memory Cards, cannot be used with PlayStation Classic.

Judging by the video they've eliminated the polygon warping issue.

Hope it's hackable to put more games on.
