To be fair, the PS1 version of R2 isn't really ideal. Though granted I imagine the same could be said for Rainbow Six...

Hopefully this thing does have save states for Rayman, that game gets unbelievably brutal later on.

Needed those really, unless it came be hacked and has extra space I'll be canvelling.

To me WipEout and Tomb Raider are two PlayStation icons.

The list is pretty poor.

I'm assuming licencing and not wanting to hit sales of remakes (e.g. SOTN) drove it.

Some good games in there, but as Maf pointed out there are some glaring omissions. The PS Classic might make for a nice piece in a collection, but that's about it.

I think it's a really great selection on the whole, but there's about 4 titles there for me (Revelations: Persona, Twisted Metal, Jumping Flash! & the ABSOLUTELY strawberry floating TERRIBLE Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six) that don't need to be there.

A Tomb Raider is the big one. Very strange why Square wouldn't turn that one over.

They've chosen the right Destruction Derby though. :datass:

Decent list of games, but certainly not worth £90.

And actually Parasite Eve is a far better addition for Japan than Intelligent Qube.

Rainbow Six is a totally wasted slot. A game so utterly diabolically strawberry floating useless OPM gave it 3/10 back in 1999. In 2018? MINUS 5 STARS.

That's a decent list. Some of you were expecting some licensing miracles :lol:

Behave. When I think of the 90s, of the Playstation, of gaming becoming mainstream and "cool", I think of 2 things:

1 - the PS1 startup sound; and
2 - Rainbow Six

This game revolutionised console gaming, bringing cinema-level storytelling, set-pieces, characters, gameplay and music. It's a stone-cold classic and has been at the forefront of the gaming scene ever since Hideo Kojima first unleashed Solid Sna-... oh I've been thinking of Metal Gear Solid haven't I?

They have to be kidding on that game selection. None of these games have a regular french and german versions,and i mean by that comprehensible ones. French FFVII even has profanity in it because the sole translator didn't know about a lot of japanese words. They had to use dictionnary word-by-word translation,and even several parts are still with kanji because of how rushed the thing was..! French translations really became a thing with the N64,PS2 and onwards.
Considering how overhyped it is in europe,it's going to be a bad surprise for everyone concerned ^^;

Also,RE:Director's cut .. that soundtrack is gonna sound great,let me tell you haha.

If the games are the US 60Hz versions (likely as 'Intelligent Qube' isn't referred to as Kurushi, its European title) then they'll almost certainly only have an English language option. If they're the PAL 50Hz versions they'll have the dodgy localisations, though there's also be loads of people importing if that's the case :p

This isn't the 'dualshock' version of the Director's cut, the one which features the new soundtrack. Director's Cut (non-dualshock) is the best RE1 to go with as it has improvements over the original (main one being inclusion of auto aim from Japanese version) while still having the original OST:

A rough estimate for all of the games boxed (except Persona because it was never released PAL) is £217. Weirdly Twisted Metal is the most expensive boxed game I could find averaging £40 on ebay. Followed less surprisingly by Wild Arms at £28. Half the games are under £10 boxed, with some as low as £3 (looking at you RRT4).The remainder sit in the mid-teens.

My guess is they asked for Rayman and Ubisoft wanted 2 games on the billing and this was all they could come up with...

I tried R6 on Vita a year or two back and it is pretty awful, I think I soft locked myself in the opening mission

Not horrendous but I have a better collection of PS1 games on my Vita and I don't have to mess around plugging that into a TV.

I think to be a worth a purchase, they need to be games that were (and remain) original, and didn't strain the hardware in such a way that they look terrible now. So although MGS was a technical achievement, it still holds up well, and obviously FF7 is a shoe-in. But if you like fighting games, you don't really need Tekken 3 now, for example...
