I continue to sing the praises of Premium - I'm going to try to finish this month some short games
Stray (finished),
Ice Age (finished),
Detroit Become Human (haven't finished - quite a long game but should smash it this month as gameplay it isn't particularly involved and is great for unwinding after work or gym),
Shadow of the Colossus (started tonight its like a seven hour game - so should do within the month) plus I got to try
Returnal (which I only wanted to try never had any intention of trying to complete it). I've wanted to try these games for ages and for under £15 - it would of cost me over a £100 if I bought them outright

I've had a growing back catalogue of games I want to play for years. I'm sure there are many games better than those I end up playing, but a lot of games are a big investment in time. So no, play what you fancy and stay guilt free!
Thanks

idk, I like overanalysing why I enjoy middling games especially, it's more interesting to work out what it is doing to make you really like it when objectively it feels like it shouldn't be like that!
I finished that Ice Age game, very short and sweet and I really enjoyed it. I'm not that discerning with platformers but do have some taste - there's a bunch of Pixar games, I love the film Ratatouille but the game didn't do much for me. Whereas I don't have that much affection for the Ice Age films, it turned out to be a decent little platformer. Its not Mario Odyssey by any means but Ice Age plays like a PS2 platformer (this is a good thing!) - you have a decent move set, the puzzles aren't challenging but pleasant and there's some lovely platforming and set pieces.
I like that it was in a real-ish environment it isn't like an Uncharted game, but I like the cartoony-but-not-too-cartoony jungles, forests, mountains and other cool nature. Its one of the only game my girlfriend quite enjoyed watching so it was nice to share my hobby.
