I've never paid full price for Plus thanks to discounted keys so I would be pretty unhappy if that option just disappeared

I think the change of cards is more due to the wording.

'3 months of PlayStation Plus' used to mean something precise. As of tomorrow, it's ambiguous. If somebody buys one and claims they believed they were entitled to Premium, there is an arguement to be had that it wasn't made clear. They are still selling PlayStation Network cards, as far as I have read.

Curious to see whether we get the same lineup as the USA, or something a little different.

I suspect our game list will be pretty similar to the US one.

The bigger question is if older games will be the 50Hz PAL versions or 60Hz NTSC versions.

I've just been working out what I think my upgrade cost will be.

Current PS Plus = £50 per year
New PS Plus Extra = £84 per year

So... the difference is £34 and, over a year, that's (34/12) £2.84 a month.

I think I have nine months left of my current PS Plus so it'll be (2.84x9) £25.56; and that'll take me through to the end of my current nine-month subscription.

Now watch as Sony tell me it'll be £223.98 or something  .

I just had a look and I'm on PS+ Premium until 19/4/2025.

Not bad.

So the current Classic games in Europe are currently the 50Hz PAL versions.

But...

If only the launch of the service hadn't taken Sony by surprise so they could have had this ready to go at launch.

Ah! You guys must have been PlayStation Now subscribers, and so you've been upgraded to Premium?

My calculations were bang on! My upgrade fee from Essential to Extra is £25.71.

Haven't done it yet, though; gonna have a think about it.

I misread my expiry which is actually in December, so I paid about £15 to upgrade to Extra for the rest of my subscription.

 . Are you thinking about getting a sub or does online gaming/sub stuff just not float your boat, Orange?

I think I'll pay that £26 upgrade cost just to try out Extra for the rest of my subscription... but I'm not sure. Do I really need access to a gaming library when I have plenty of games I've barely played? Then again, maybe the sub approach would help me cut even further back on buying games. I don't know!

I've only got 2 months left to run on my current Plus (now Essential) subscription. They want £5.49 to upgrade me to Extra for that length of time but I think I'll pass for now - I've got too much stuff to play right now so don't need to throw more money at a list of games I won't even get around to for months!

Will probably look at getting a discounted sub to Extra at some point in the future when my backlog has thinned out a bit

I'll resub next time I want to play online, no point doing so until then.

Luckily I'm sure the Last of Us Part II multiplayer will be along any minute....

Hmm, looking at that list I might as well spend the £15 or so required to upgrade until my sub expires in December. I want to play -

Little Hope
Disaster Report 4
Demons Souls (not really, but I should give it a go as I have a PS5)
Stray (when it releases)

That already makes it more than worth the price. Dammit, they got me.

I've not really been paying attention to this as I don't currently have any kind of PS sub and can't see me having one anytime in the next 18 months either, but I just saw on Resetera that as part of this, they're bring back in the PS1/PS2 classics and they will be free to redeem on PS4 or PS5 if you bought them on PS3? That's excellent as I have soooo many of them. I also have quite a few US ones too as it was so easy to create a US account and buy stuff back then, but they're obviously tied to a different account, one I'm not sure I even remember the details of.
