Weirdly on the Italian service they’ve got Dino Crisis, Soul Calibur and Ridge Racer 2 listed.

The PS1/PSP games have now been removed from Sony's Italian article. Though according to Eurogamer...

Eurogamer wrote:Dino Crisis has a bit of a cult following as a survival horror featuring an outbreak of deadly dinosaurs. Slightly less scary, Ridge Racer 2 is the hit arcade racing game which showed off the power of the PS1. Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, meanwhile, is the first game in the series to be made for PSP, and features God of War's Kratos.

Maybe they mean Ridge Racer Revolution (was that ever made available on PS3?) because there was no title officially called Ridge Racer 2 on the PS1. I went back to the demo last year though - impossible to control the cars. Like I'd completely forgotten how to corner and would either hit the wall or spin the car out, that's how different those first two titles were compared to all the later editions of Ridge Racer. A decent list of additions for Extra! It looks like there's a lot of hype around Stray. Final Fantasy VII is going to be a nice one to go back to. I played a few hours but then dropped out and since lost access to the game

Premium looks disappointing. Not even any new game trials, or do these get added as new titles are released?

I think the main thing with Premium is the streaming, which if you're on a PS5 and likely have a nearly full drive is pretty useful...

The streaming has been pretty disappointing for me, the quality of image and lag are both worse than I get with Game Pass Cloud or Strava. Otherwise yeah it would be the key thing about Premium

The next few years in gaming could be interesting as platform holders look to increase prices whilst pushing streaming and gamers find that - at the moment - it's often a lower quality experience than with local computing power.

It's funny that it's the opposite with me when it comes to Game Pass and PS+++ streaming.

I have posted it before, but here's xbox streaming for me.

Were you playing Tripping Balls Simulator? Looks pretty decent to me!

I didnt realise Premium allowed for streaming of games. Explains why I see a Premium logo over some Extra games. I thought Sony was just buggering up their labels! :shifty:

Yeah, the labelling isn't very clear, IMHO. I popped onto the Store and looked at the PS Plus section; it seemed confusing as to what games were on Essential, what were on Extra and what were on Premium. Where you may have bought some of the titles, it gets more confusing - especially where I have bought a game (Greedfall) but the Store is saying I haven't.

Stray.

Played about one hour so far and it's impressive. I'll give it a lot more to play at this weekend.

I've decided I won't be upgrading to Extra or Premium come the end of this spell of PS Plus that i upgraded for a few quid to try out.

I dunno what it is, but i feel the same way with regards to game pass. It's similar to Netflix in that initially it seems like amazing value, but i end up browsing the catalogue and am just overwhelmed by the amount to play. It brings in decision fatigue which just makes me back out of it and play Rocket League. Coupled with the fact that games will come and go on the service, i honestly think my usual method of buying games at launch (very rarely) and then selling on ebay once i'm done would be far more cost-effective.

Objectively, it is great value obviously, but for me, it really isn't.

I totally relate to that thinking, Proto! These schemes can be good value but I know that, personally, I'd find myself skipping from game-to-game after mere minutes; there'd be too much for me to focus on and I wouldn't really enjoy it. Perhaps with games more so than, say, films, the regular "arriving and leaving" aspect turns me off, too.

For many folk I can see the benefits but, right now, like yourself - I don't think it suits my approach to gaming.

Finished Stray just after my renewal hit :x but it was lovely

Having access to some PS5 games like Returnal which I'd probably not buy but intrigued to try out is an incentive to keep it I suppose.

But agree above, I feel overwhelmed with all the choice, on one hand I want to try many many games, on the other it's just too much choice and I feel I'll start one and want to try another

I'm trying out Plus Premium and I'm very impressed but do see what you both mean. Whereas, I think Netflix is worth having even though I'm not interested in most of their content, its worth having as something to chuck on whilst I'm working / doing something else. I don't think I'll have the problem of flicking between games, I got this solely for Stray and Returnal (plus there's a few platformers I want to muck about with). There's a lot of games on my wish list that are available on the service - I think I'll sign up to the service for a month at whatever point I would actually bought these games outright.

They were good announcements.

I have been holding off on starting Like A Dragon for fear of it leaving Game Pass when i'm 20 hours in, but being on poverty spec PS+ is the ideal situation for me.

I used to play Tony Hawks all the time on my GBA. I only ever played a demo of the console version on Dreamcast. Time to right that wrong.
