I would assume if you have more time remaining on your Plus than Now, it’ll bump you down to Essential when your premium runs out, but I wouldn’t expect the time to stack (I.e If you have 4 months of Now and 6 months of Plus, you get 4 months of Premium then 2 months of Essential).

The reasoning being if you had paid for both you’re still getting exactly what you paid for without being overcharged, while if you’d just paid for Now you paid for a service that includes streaming and the only one that has that is the one that includes everything. More of a “we have no other choice but to bump you up” than actual goodwill for loyalty or whatever.

Sony hasn't published any news on this yet, dude. I'd imagine that Sony would offer a pro-rata payable upgrade fee depending on the time left on your existing subscription, as Nintendo do when upgrading from Switch Online to Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Of course, anyone doing so will pay the appropriate proportion of the full advertised price. I'm gonna be looking out for discounted sub codes from online retailers... if Sony allows for this. (Sub codes wouldn't be of use to folk with existing long-running memberships, though).

Ah, right, yeah, it's bound to be just a purchase for the difference. (£4 a month for Extra, £6.50 a month for premium)

For folk who stacked up their PS Plus sub and want to upgrade, potentially there may be quite a large cost - depending on how far ahead you subscribed for!
