PlayStation Blog EU wrote:Glad to finally be able to talk about this! Today, we’re introducing a new video programme called State of Play, and the first episode kicks off Monday, 25th March at 9pm GMT / 10pm CET.

State of Play will give you updates and announcements from the world of PlayStation. Our first episode will showcase upcoming PS4 and PS VR software, including new trailers, new game announcements and new gameplay footage.

You can watch live on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter or Facebook worldwide, and we’ll be offering up the VOD edition shortly after the episode airs.

And this is just the beginning! State of Play will return throughout the year with more updates and announcements.

These kind of communication events have seemed to work pretty well for Nintendo so it's cool to see Sony use a similar style.

Cool, I will give it a watch. They say there will be more throughout the year

Nintendo Directs have got their own quirky flavour and featuring their execs and developers have a Japanese flavour. Inside Xbox is a fair representation of the Xbox brand with Major Nelson and his co-presenters.

I'm interested to know if State of Play is made by PlayStation UK. Will Sony be going for pizzaz or something they feel is 'accessible' with PlayStation Access staff?

Classic Sony, always copying Nintendo

I hope it's hosted by Toro and Kuro

Please announce a release date for Last of Us 2.

That's all I want.

I dunno what they could show off but it may be The Last of Us 2 but it could just days gone.

Or Sucker Punch’s samurai game.

Going by the insider at Restera doesn’t sound like it’s going to be much but these events are always somewhat fun.

I was just *waiting* for someone to make that connection  .

Even if, say, Metal Gear Solid VI is announced... the state of that game etc!

With this being the first of many, I'd expect Sony to put their best foot forward with at least one big third-party announcement (like WB Montreal's heavily teased new Batman game) and new game-play from one of their upcoming exclusives, possibly TLoU Part II.

But now I'm going to temper my expectations, even though they are pretty reasonable.

My original post was going to be The State of their Play.

Any idea what the run time on this will be? I’ll give it a watch and see what it’s like!

I don't think Sony has indicated how long the presentation will last, Milner. I'd imagine it'll be around thirty minutes, but we'll see!

So, despite having lots of games to play currently, I'm always thinking about the next ones to buy when they get on sale. I just recently went back to GoW to kill all the Valkyries, and a friend of mine mentioned that combat in GoW was heavily inspired by Dark Souls series (not sure if true or not). Knowing that those games are notoriously hard, which one would be the best starting point? Doesn't need to be a From Software game. What should I consider buying the most? Nioh? Lords of The Fallen? Bloodborne? Any entry in the Dark Souls series? Something else entirely that I've never heard of?

Welcome to GRcade, aapn77! I'll await responses from expert Soulsborne players for definitive guidance, but in the meantime and from a PS4 perspective, I'd recommend Bloodborne as a decent introduction (as a slightly friendlier initiation to this style of gameplay*) or Dark Souls Remastered as a first step into the world of Souls.

* It's still super-tough, though!

It'll be interesting how the presentation will work out, as when the Nintendo Directs first started announcements were slow and there was a few growing pains, but now they've got them off to a fine art, with announcements after announcements.

This is a great time to get Nioh as the complete edition is going for £15.99, in one of the PSN sales. (£12.99 for base version.) Another Souls alternative is The Surge. It too is on sale at the moment, on PSN. (£9.49.)

ZhugeEX over at ResetEra says not to expect much from this.

Considering just how quiet Sony have been so late they really need to start showing what's coming second half this year, we've seen more than enough of Days Gone now.

Has he said it again more recently? I know he posted that sort of message when this was first announced.
