For me, E3 is less about how things happen, and more the spirit that goes into that time period. It's a culmination of gaming as a whole, with everyone being there just for the games. Sure, some people still act negatively, but it's the one period where I feel everyone is celebrating gaming as a whole with no divides in sight. So even if Sony isn't there this year, they'll still be celebrated along with the rest.

Though to be fair, so long as Nintendo still have their three day Treehouse stream, I'll be happy.

Maybe not, I mean, Xbox don't even have a booth at E3 anymore they do their conference in The Microsoft Theater instead.

Meh. EA always went first anyway and I watched it more out of completionism than anything else so no big loss. Just means I don't need to look at that banana split Andrew House's face at least.

Still got Xbox, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Devolver, PC Gaming Show and Nintendo to look forward to. No Sony sucks.

So, what do we expect? Bethesda has said Doom Eternal will get an in-depth look, so that's guaranteed. But what else? How about something from Arkane, the developer of Dishonored and Prey, more on Wolfenstein: Youngblood, a big expansion for Fallout 76 and another glimpse at Bethesda Game Studio's Starfield?

And maybe, just maybe, a little bit more on The Elder Scrolls 6.

I don't actually think Microsoft will reveal their new console, so barring a proper Halo Infinite reveal I'm probably most excited about Bethesda's conference. News of The Elders Scrolls Blades on PSVR and Starfield gameplay with a surprise launch in November to make everybody forgive them!

EA have said that that won't be revealing the new Need for Speed during the E3 period, even though it's on track to launch during Q4.

Dang, I know this won't fuss too many folk in GR, but I was looking forward to seeing it.

I am curious because they have floundered around with this franchise for years, each one seemingly more bland and exploitative since the last. I hope that with the aging/declining pop-culture relevance of Fast and Furious they'll drop that angle and try something else, maybe inspired by the popularity of the Burnout Paradise remaster.

However back in the real world, they can't compete with Forza Horizon for open world stuff as its beaten them at their own open world live service game. I doubt they'll go for the more realistic angle of Shift/Shift 2 as that probably has less market appeal and is more difficult to get away with bullshit.

EA will probably announce something like a Need for Speed: Underground soft no-number reboot which is in name only, that trades on the nostalgia of the old but is really wearing its skin like Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with all the standard (or even more egregious) microtransactions and "live service" trappings underneath.

I'm surprised Apex Legends is getting all that time seeing as its been losing players and twitch views recently.

That's probably why. And it seems they don't have a lot else to actually show.

Though I played Need For Speed Kelly Brook Edition, the last one that actually appealed to me was Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 in 2002 (lot of 2s, maaaan). To me the most recent ones have felt like poor imitations of Burnout and even the surprisingly brilliant Split/Second.
