Isn't there a PC help thread? I thought there was at one point, but apparently it was just the PC Gaming thread with an old title :shifty: Anyway, if one of you lovely chaps could tell me how to disable this from popping up I would much appreciate it:

I know it's important to restart your OS after it updates but I use kukuklok.com to wake me up for important things y'see and it isn't really much use when your computer restarts itself during the night :D I have set my Windows (visa 64 bit) to only download important updates and have specifically set it to ask me before installing them but it doesn't seem to have listened :D So there must be another way I can disable this popup (or just the timer) for good? Thanks :D

You could just restart and get it over with.

Or turn off automatic updates entirely.

My ipod isn't loud enough and I've grown to hate my clock radio alarm and the radio part is just static! I know there's a way, there must be a way!

It's no good disabling the pop-up/timer. If the computer doesn't restart, some of the updates simply won't get installed, so you might as well not bother updating.

When I was on Vista, I had mine set to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". Using that option, you can download them and reboot when it suits you.

But keeping your PC on all night just to act as an alarm clock is an insane waste of electricity.

Pacman :fp:

Use your phones alarm?

Or buy a clock. You'll make the money back in energy you'll save.

Well I'm obviously going to restart at some point.

But that's what I did select :( (edit: but it's magically switched back without me telling it to!!!!! i definitely selected download but don't install, the computer is trying to make me look stupid! :x ) And I also have things downloading overnight so it's kind of worth it :shifty:
