So do we have one? If not, shall we make this thread it? I'm looking for some recommendations:

Comics/Games/Footie/Movies

Anyone know decent ones? And is the default iOS the best app?

I usually listen to the following:

Film - Empire, Kemode and Mayo
Gaming - Bombcast
Games/TV/Nerdy - Geekbox
Football - Football Weekly (Guardian), Monday Night Club (Five Live)
Wrestling - Review a Wai, Review a Raw

I use BeyondPod on android.

I use 'Pocket Casts' on Android, and it's fantastic. Lots of options I use, like automatically downloading the latest episode of selected podcasts, automatically playing podcasts from a certain point (great if you know a podcast has the same length of adverts at the start).

I listen to...

No Such Thing As A Fish (QI researchers)
The Geekbox (gaming/movies/tv)
The Comic Conspiracy (comics)
Serial (Season one now finished)
Slate's Serial Spoiler Podcast (well worth listening to between Serial episodes)
This American Life (documentary)
Criminal (crime documentary)
Lexicon Valley (origin of language)
StarTalk (science)
Infinite Monkey Cage (bbc4 show with Brian Cox)
IGN UK Podcast (games/movies)
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
The Gist (from Slate)

Downcast or Overcast are the best iOS apps. I'm not too keen on the official one.

Another vote for Hardcore History, it's utterly superb but takes an age between episodes. Download any that are available as Dan takes them off free after about a year or so.

Hardcore History is so good. So so good. His ongoing WW1 series has finally given me an in to what is one of the most complicated wars of all time and it's utterly fascinating. As well as doing a bang up job of laying out the basic (ha!) structure of the war, he also illustrates beautifully the reasonings behind them, why trench warfare came about, the attitudes of the famously aloof generals, the perspective of the common soldier and more. It's amazing.

I'm currently listening to his 4 part Gengis Khan series, as well as

Criminal
This American Life
How Stuff Works
Radiolab
Serial

All are fantastic.

Oh, and I use Podcast Republic on my HTC. Couldn't get my head around BeyondPod, it was so needlessly complex.

I paid for the Ghosts of the Ost Front series of HH and I'd definitely recommend that too. The stuff from Stalingrad sounded inhuman.

I listen to a few:
Football Weekly/Football Ramble (not normally both in the same week though)
Stuff You Should Know
Hardcore History (heard about it on here before, only heard the first couple of Armageddon ones so far)
Coffee Break French (in my weak attempt at learning French)

Have recently started listening to the Infinite Money podcast, not really a science nerd in the slightest but found it pretty interesting and entertaining enough to warrant piling through the back episodes.

Planning to travel alone again soon so will be heavily stocking up on podcasts beforehand, need to have a browse through the thread and see what's good nowadays. Downloading the Hardcore History one although slightly sad I missed the WW2 ones talked about in the other thread, seems to start with Genghis Khan on Itunes' store now.

I actually posted in that one before copying it over here, realised that one was in the gaming folder and I don't really enjoy gaming any more.
