Christ, I had forgotten those. :dread:

Been having a listen to Something Was Wrong, a fantastic podcast covering relationship abuses of various sorts, including gaslighting, Munchausen, etc. Highly recommend.

After Dan Carlin tweeted about it, I've been listening to the Hardcore History parody of the Ewok battle in Star Wars. While a parody of Carlin's style, the content is pretty good once you get used to the HH style.

It's called "Spec Media".

I've been listening to 'Socially Distant Sports Bar' a lot in lockdown and I love it! https://www.distantpod.com/

Essentially 3 Welsh guys talking about sport as they go over a few YouTube clips, a documentary and a book each week. Although in reality about 20% of the podcast is sports, the rest is just them chatting about anything and everything (including the likes of Nazi's, talcing your balls and how everyone in Wales knows each other).

It is essentially pub talk whilst there are no pubs. I was only aware of Elis James initially but the other two are great. They do push the pateron a lot and have recently made some of the pod exclusive to paying members, but the pods are usually 2hrs+ so even the free shorter version has plenty of stuff in it. Also been a great source for good sporting documentaries to watch!

Another fan of Bubbins. I haven't listened to this but he's usually good value on Fighting Talk.

I wasn't aware of him until I started listening to this podcast but he is fantastic! He reminds me of the Gerry character from the Modern Toss drawings

The contrast between him and Elis adn Steff is great as well.

Dark Air with Terry Carnation has just released its first episode. It stars Rainn Wilson as a former radio host, in the AM radio paranormal conspiracy theory Coast to Coast mold - a role he reprises from the Radio Rental podcast, which is also pretty great.

First episode is pretty fun, I liked it. There's some Dwight Schrute in the character and it's a good time.

Over the weekend I've listened to the trilogy on African dictators (Amin, Nguema and Bokassa).

Nothing that can be said except they were just truly brutal and awful people.

Things I've listened to:

XFM radio show with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant - first listened to this about 10 years ago and absolutely loved it. Sometimes I give it a re-listen. Personally I prefer before Karl Pilkington gets too involved, although I appear to be alone in that as everyone else seems obsessed with him. Ricky's film reviews and Steve's anectotes were some highlights for me.

Wolf and Owl show - this one more recent. Two mates (Romesh Ranganathan and Tim (or Tom?) Davis) talking with each other once a week; taking the piss, having a laugh, opening up about their past and general anxieties, responding to listener's queries.

Alan Carr's travel podcast - I enjoyed a few episodes of this, Alan Carr comes across well. It's just that this is more of a talk show format where he interviews a different celebrity every week, which isn't really my thing.

Frank Skinner show - I like Frank Skinner. This is a radio show, but it's also on Spotify as a podcast.

Currently I listen while cooking dinner. Some other things I've listened to in the past were Hardcore History (I probably heard about it here) and there was a gaming one called 10th Muse. I wonder if that's still going.

To celebrate the release of the Anthropocene Reviewed book, a new episode of the podcast of the same name has been released. John Green's voice is a great comfort.

I've been very much enjoying Mandatory Redistribution Party recently. I would recommend the episode "The Old Internet" to anyone fancying a couple of likely lads chatting left wing politics.

Been listening to a few episodes of Chatabix the last few days. Some episodes are funny, others are a bit gooseberry fool. I recommend an episode where they talk about HIGNFY.

Hardcore History's Supernova in the East part 6 is out, and it's really good. Almost 6hrs long.
