Tried out Behind the Bastards today. Started with Paul Manafort (strawberry float that guy!), and loved the format. Any recommendations? A lot to choose from.

Start at the beginning and listen to them all. They are all great.

If you're not going to listen to them all (and you should!!) then my favourite mini series in the podcast was "behind the police" which is 5 or 6 episodes long. Came out last summer and goes through the origins of the US police up to today.

strawberry floating terrifying!

Started the Magnus Archives a week or so back as the episodes are the perfect length for my commute.

Some good stuff there, but I have a feeling it's going to get bogged down in lore and inter-connected stories and characters. I don't think there'll be as many 'look, these was just this woman right and she popped and then there were worms everywhere and that's why I burned down my house, officer' type stories.

I need to get back into that as I was a few episodes in and was enjoying it but I think I'm more invested in No Sleep for my cheesy horror fix. With the winter nights on the way I'll start listening to them again.

Literally the next episode and it's starting to hint at a big mythos.

Hey guys, I have started my very own podcast, it's about games. It's an hour long and will be fortnightly. Hope you will all check it out and subscribe to it. It's called Pedz' Game Shack and is available on apple podcasts, Spotify, well all the things. Have a listen and let me know your thoughts, please.

Drumstick wrote:Started Teacher's Pet today. It's kind of an Australian version of Serial, studying a long unsolved crime (which has had some recent progress and news coverage).

The gist is, one day a loving mother of two suddenly disappears without a word to anybody. The husband is eventually made the prime suspect but the murder is never pinned on him. The case is studied in the podcast and unearths new evidence that could prove crucial is determining what happened.

Following this and despite the absence of the body, the authorities in Australia decided to charge the husband, Chris Dawson, with the murder of his wife, Lyn Dawson. After a nine week trial, the Judge finally gave his verdict today.

GUILTY. :toot:

PJ Vogt who was involved with Reply All has started a new podcast called Search Engine which I think some of you may be interested in.

I've been listening to the first two episodes of Michael Spicer's No Room podcast on BBC Sounds, and really enjoyed it. If you follow him elsewhere already, you'll have seen some of the skits before, but they work just as well in an audio only format, and the production of the whole thing leaves it feeling a lot more like Jam than I would have expected.

Google are shutting down there podcast app and if you want to continue with them you will need to move to YouTube Music. No thanks.

Any recommendations for any other podcast apps with a similar clean and minimalistic style?

I've no idea if it's similar to Google, but I use Overcast and have zero complaints.
