There's a podcast that exists where 3 women watch (awful) video game porn and "review" it

I find it quite amusing

I found it to be the same. Couldn't get past the first 10 minutes of the ep I tried.

I am, however, strawberry floating loving The Adventure Zone. Three brothers and their dad play a D&D campaign that starts off fairly normal but becomes something really special. It stars the McElroy's (off of Polygon and the like) and its equal parts hilarious and inventive.

I will check that out, Taf. Cheers for the heads up.

Oh and I'm subscribed to a crazy amount of podcasts but most of them are white noise for when I struggle sleeping. Ones I actively make time to listen to while conscious:

Anything Giant Bomb puts out: Giant Bombcast on Tues, Giant Beastcast on Fri, Giant Bomb presents (interviews and misc)
The Comedy Button
A Tournament of Lies (although this seems to be on hiatus)
Team GFB Radio
The Lapsed Fan Wrestling Podcast
Last Podcast On the Left
Lore
My Brother, My Brother and Me
Dumb People Town

I do a lot of walking/jogging and often not in the mood for music or silence so podcasts help keep me fit!

And on the subject of insomnia there's a podcast called Sleep With Me that specifically has a guy talking in a monotonous voice telling nonsensical boring stories to send you off to sleep. The intro itself is usually about 15 minutes long. I find myself personally more inclined to nod off when I'm feeling comfortable listening to a conversation I'm interested in but people seem to swear by Sleep With Me as a way of helping with bouts of insomnia.

Have you seen that Pollock and Ting have started up a new podcast. Haven't listened to it but it looks like it's basically the same as Review-A-Wai http://www.johnandwai4.life

Yeah, very sad. Basically Anthem, which owned Fight Network, was bleeding money having bought IMPACT Wrestling, decided to make cuts with Fight Network being one of them.

I don't watch current content so that particular show was the only one I listened to, but they are still podcasting about the current product over at their new http://www.johnandwai4.life website.

Edit: DAT Maf.

Yeah I just saw.

In a very selfish way this works out for me because I had no interest in any of the other Law shows spamming up the RSS feed. I won't miss Jason Agnew talking down to live callers on the radio show put it that way.

Yeah I've still got 21 unlistened Review-A-Wai episodes to get through and got every episode on my PC. I hope they do eventually start it up again.

I'm subscribed to this but I'm a hair's breadth away from binning it currently. I liked Austin and Patrick at Giant Bomb but Waypoint Radio just seems like them and their new cast of people constantly going on about how WOKE they are. I consider myself a giant lefty but they have even me rolling my eyes.

Don't listen to them myself but apparently IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat is really good and there's also Radio Free Nintendo from Nintendo World Report.

The woke stuff is a bit of a long running joke from Klepeck's "Woke Gamer" persona from that wrestling game competition they do at PAX every year. They need to have Danika on the podcast more.

Truth. Sub out Patrick as much as possible for her and Rob Zacny. I think it's consistently the best regular weekly gaming podcast going at the moment.

I really need to have a bit of podcast cull:

Waypoint Radio
one life left
PC Gamer UK
Three Moves Ahead
Rock Paper Shotgun
Eurogamer
Idle Thumbs
Idle Weekend ('though this seems dead since the hosts joined Waypoint. And are better on that show anyway)
Important If True
Football Weekly
Totally Football Show
30 For 30
Reply All
99% Invisible
Criminal
Ear Hustle
What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law
Showcase
Snap Judgement
Hardcore History
Common Sense
The Nod
Mogul
Stuff You Should Know

And that's the stuff that's recently put out episodes. :dread:

I've been listening to quite a bit of Tardy to the party recently. Kind of like HDTGM but with even more annoying people. Like HDTGM, it works best when it's a film you're familiar with.

I've tried to get into the Totally Football Show but it's just so smug and Ian Macintosh always comes across as a smarmy bellend. The guests are pretty bad too. That know-it-all David Preece, Matt Scott who's been on a couple of times, Honigstein who literally won't say a bad word about Klopp no matter how shite a performance Liverpool have, a few of the "comedians" they've had on etc. Football Weekly has been consistently better than it.

I've not got around to it but I Only Listen To The Mountain Goats is meant to be great. Not many podcasts about music culture so want to set aside some time to properly listen.

TTFS has almost done the impossible and made me nearly dislike James Richardson. I stopped listening to Football Weekly a couple of seasons back because it felt too repetitive and
that's somehow worse.

Anyway, here's my list.

Giant Bombcast
Giant Beastcast
Both Steve Austin shows (Although I tend to skip some depending on the guest)
The Edge and Christian Pod of Awesomeness
The Lapsed Fan
And a backlog of Hardcore History

I don't know how you guys manage to keep up with some of the lists that have been posted in this thread.

Richardson breaths really loudly through his nose and once you notice it that's the podcast almost ruined. If "Producer Ben" was as great a podcast producer as he thinks he is then that should be easily sorted.

I used to hate Max Rushden hosting Football Weekly whenever Richardson was away but he's really come into his own now.

Waypoint is an odd beast. I genuinely loved the podcast to begin with; Austin Walker is really one of the most intelligent and captivating voices in video games at the moment and Patrick Klepek is an extremely competent reviewer and critic. Danielle Riendeau too is a great writer and was a welcome addition towards the very start, ditto with Rob Zachy.

Now though...I don't know. I remember the first episode I had doubts, when Austin was away and the entire podcast was Danielle and social media manager Dannika taking about Overwatch fandom in a way you might expect to teenagers to talk: no analysis, just gushing overexcited nonsense. The Waypoint Twitter feed is this 24/7 and is probably the worst, most unprofessional gaming site Twitter I know of.

I need to catch up on the most recent eps, but tbh the Twitter feed alone has really put me off the site's content at the moment.

EDIT: I just checked. 90% of the recent tweets are retweets of people's wacky Sonic Forces avatars. Hmm.

A lot of the shows I like the most tend to be 20-30 minutes long so I can get a couple of them done in a commute each day. All the Radiotopia shows are like that, come to think of it.

Mafro wrote:Richardson breaths really loudly through his nose and once you notice it that's the podcast almost ruined. If "Producer Ben" was as great a podcast producer as he thinks he is then that should be easily sorted

There have been a couple of moments when James Richardson has made a mistake and done an immediate second take but they've left the first bit in.

I've stopped listening to Totally Football all the time now because Football Weekly is generally better even if it's now much longer than it used to be.
