I've seen few people like that on other community I'm part of!

I read everything because I like the dialogue, it's nothing special but I feel like part of the world doing that I guess. So I tend to know how to use Pokétch, but I do think it's quite wank. Can't do anything with it when it's small so I just forget it exists and keep it closed.

Yeah it’s far from ideal isn’t it! Was a neat little extra on the DS when it was tucked away on the bottom screen, they may as well have just had it as an option on the menu rather than toggle, can’t use it any other way anyway!

Sorry this is a bit OT but this is the Active pokemon thread, I’ve not played for years (probably Ruby/Sapphire or a remake ) but have got the itch. Ignoring prices/deals what would you considered best? Sword/Shield, Let’s Go or one of these?

Let's Go is a very different style of game when it comes to the catching/encountering mechanics, and I personally was underwhelmed by Sword/Shield, so to scratch that classic pokemon itch I'd for for these.

I’d go for Sword/Shield or these remakes over Let’s Go, the Let’s Go games weren’t bad at all in my opinion but a more traditional Pokémon is more enjoyable.

Not sure which I’d go for out of these if I was just going for one though? If you want to collect as many of the available Pokémon as possible then Sword and Shield are probably the better bet, along with the DLC I think there’s over 600 available in those games, there’s a lot available in BDSP but I have no idea how many in total. If the story means anything to you then BDSP is a better choice, there obviously is a story there in Sword and Shield but the player is almost constantly pushed away from it due to them being a child (would have been neat if we could have actually had multiple playable characters, switching to either Leon or Sonia to see more of the story when the main character was told to enjoy themselves) with the main bulk of it being right near the end. Both very good, either one would be fine, maybe choose the one with the better graphical style to you?

As expected, I'm pretty over levelled compared to the wild Pokemon on the routes I'm on, but even so, that Lucario in the 3rd gym was a struggle. His drain punch would take out pretty much any of my Pokemon in two hits, and quite a few of them in one.

I'd go for Sword and Shield over these, two gyms in and Pearl is comfortably the worst mainline pokemon game I've played. Still pokemon so still fun, but I was much more taken by Shield.

I've got to wait till just before Christmas to get my copy of diamond now.

Quick question, are the day events the same? Like Friday at the weather institute having drifloon around?

No-one has spoken up for Let's Go so I'll do it - I thought it was brilliant and it's my favourite "proper" (ish) Pokemon game next to HeartGold.

Let's Go, site23! :toot: . I enjoyed Let's Go and, as a Pokénoob, it felt like a good entry point into the franchise. I hope to restart the game and get back into it soon.

I also enjoyed Let's Go! I think it's an ideal re-entry point into the series too. Slightly disappointed we haven't had Let's Go Togepi/Marill yet.

Let’s Go is good, but I just much prefer the standard Pokémon games to them! Really enjoyed my 55/60 hours I put into it and was planning on a second run but never got around to it before Sword/Shield came out. With these remakes and Legends coming next year that’s probably going not to happen anytime soon either

I’d be there day 1 if they did a Let’s Go Johto

Maybe that's what's coming late next year instead of the start of gen nine. After all, we've had
-Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee! (remake)
-Sword and Shield (New)
-Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (remake)
-Legends Arceus (New)

Stands to reason the next game'll be another remake.

Pokemon Black and White are going to be next unless they want to remake Gold again.

Black/White or Black/White 2 remakes have to be next up going by their current format, don’t see them remaking both so I wonder which they’ll opt for, I also wonder if ILCA will be given the go ahead to remake these after BDSP. I don’t expect them for a few years at least though as we had,

Fire Red/Leaf Green in 2004
Heart Gold/Soul Silver in 2009
Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire in 2014
Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl in 2021

If they did let ILCA remake one of the gen 5 games, I’d expect it a little quicker than we’ve seen previously between remakes but it wouldn’t be until 2023 at the absolute earliest, more likely 2024.

I feel like this kind of remake is the one we're going to get moving forward now, rather than a remake based on the current gen games. Bit of a shame really, as although this isn't bad, I do wish it was in the Sword and Shield engine, the way ORAS improved on XY. I'm sure the sales figures for BDSP will outweigh any moaning from online communities.

I'd love to see a Let's Go Johto though. I have my Let's Go Living dex stored separately so they can be transferred to any future Let's Go (as the stuff from other games can't be transferred in).

The main difference in Let's Go is that you only fight against other trainers, you don't fight wild pokemon. Instead they wander around the map and you catch them pokemon go style. Otherwise it's a remake of pokemon yellow.

I liked Let's Go because I thought it was an extremely streamlined game that focused on showcasing the fun and nostalgic bits of Yellow in a modernised (and very cute!) way.
