I've been enjoying this so far (Though only up to 3 gym badges so far) but I'm not a huge fan of how you can't mix and match clothes like you could in Sword/Shield, you can just pick from predefined styles and that seems to be it.

Also is it just me or do Eggs take way longer to hatch in this than they used to in older games? I've had the egg you get given by the travelling man for ages and it still says that it doesn't seem close to hatching.

Easiest way to hatch eggs is to jump on the bike and ride round in circles while its in its higher speed setting, still takes a fair while if it’s something like a Gible but its a lot quicker than riding up/down a long stretch of road, the steps seem to be counted in an odd way riding in circles, not sure if it was the same in Sword/Shield as this was my preferred method in those as well.

i think the sword/shield haters are in the minority. for the most part even people who were upset about the cut pokemon seemed to love it. i mean you dont become the second best selling pokemon games with more haters than fans. nor do you get voted the second most popular pokemon games in japan

I would just add that Pokemon games basically retain price forever and BD/SP have a free Manaphy giveaway which ends in Feb. Sword/Shield is probably the better game though.

Depends if you play the DLC I guess...

Although I suppose that's still GB rather than UK, plus the Isle of Man

Sword and Shield did have a wonderful setting, maybe my joint favourite with Johto.

I’ve now pretty much finished with BDSP till Home integration is out and the mythical Pokémon are hopefully officially added into them, finished off breeding and half-heartedly EV training my teams for my second run of each games. Put about 120 hours into them so far, on my main profile alone I’ve got 320 hours in Sword and Shield (which is a small amount compared to some!) for comparison and probably at least another 80 hours on my second profile, so over 400 hours in total. I shouldn’t be but I’m awfully tempted to breed something on Shield and do another solo run on Sword for after I’ve played BDSP and Legends :fp: Sword and Shield are just really repayable games to me.

Just coming to the end of the Elite 4 (reckon with a bit of luck I could take on Cynthia but the Abomasnow I brought along to tackle Garchomp hasn't levelled up as much as I'd have liked but we'll see) and I'm really warming to it. I'm only about twenty or so hours in but I usually bosh through the main game as fast as possible then really chew on the post game which is pretty extensive in this.

Not being able to use your bike in the Grand Underground is an utterly baffling design decision.

Are we assuming Nintendo finally updates Home to allow BD and SP when Arceus comes out?

Hopefully so, hopefully they get around to adding the Darkrai, Shaymin events that are already coded into the game as well as putting Arceus in there as well! It’ll be a missed opportunity if they don’t put at least 2 of the 3 of these Pokémon in these games.

I could have sworn I'd seen them say Home integration was coming in January, but I must have imagined it as I can't find anything other than '2022' now.

I was really surprised when I found it hadn't launched with Home support.

Yeah I think they said 2022 for both BDSP and Legends Arceus? Hopefully the sooner the better for BDSP so I can start my second runs of each at some point in the near future.

Given they've already announced you can get a Darkrai and Shaymin in Arceus maybe having them on your Arceus save allows you to collect the required item in Diamond/Pearl. Same way having a Let's Go save gets you a mew.

If they go for that option I hope its just the requirement to have Legends Arceus save data as we’ve already been told that Darkrai and Shaymin are both post game quests in Legends (for having BDSP and SS save data) It’d be a nice compromise though!

Does anyone have a spare Spiritomb from BD/SP they're willing to give me? I've just learned they've made it even more annoying in this game than the originals to get.

I’ve got some bred in Pearl if you want one, no idea on natures/IVs though if you’re looking for something in particular?
