Pokemon Go is more realistic than I thought. There's a strawberry floating Venomoth attacking footballers in Paris.

Been thinking of waiting for the official release for this in the UK but getting tempted to just download it now.
My only worry is about potentially losing my account when an official version hits the UK store.

Ah strawberry float it.
Anyone got a good link to the APK? Heard of a few dodgy ones going around...

Picked up an Eevee and a Geodude today amongst others. The pokemon have different moves (some rarer than others) , which is worth bearing in mind when you send off your extra mons to Prof Oak in return for candy.

There are loads of pokespots in my town - every single sign for a historical landmark seems to have been turned into one. So if there's a sign, chances are I can get pokeballs out of it.

Felt a little awkward earlier when I had to stop outside a pub to throw pokeballs into the air at the Zubat which I kept missing, while someone walked into the view of my camera. Must have looked a little odd.

Quite enjoying this, as long as they keep it updated, refined and add content, I could see this becoming the next big mobile craze.

I live in the suburbs of Bristol and there are loads of gyms and pokestops within 2-3 mins walk of my house. We have these weird parish tomb stone things and even they are tagged as gyms.

One Pokestop is in a historical garden that only opens one weekend a year in August so I'll be heading to that one next month! I'm looking forward to getting to work tomorrow and seeing if it's tagged as a pokestop as then I can rack up the goodies.

This sounds like an amazing scene  . I don't know anything about this game... do you have to actually wave your phone about to catch stuff?

The pokemon, especially Zubats, are situated in 3D space with the phone's camera and gyroscope. So yeah, if it's flapping around you have to point your phone up and fling pokeballs at it on the screen.

Yeah, I gave zero strawberry floats.

It sounds like something from Animal Crossing :toot:

You can switch off the camera and have Pokémon appear against a generic grass background, without moving. I used that to catch a Zubat when I woke up yesterday morning as I didn't want to keep turning around in my bed.

The worst of the starters.

There was a Squirtle somewhere nearby in the park earlier, but my girlfriend was getting really annoyed at me being on my phone all the time, so I had to leave it. :(

I got exactly the same thing - however I fixed it by going out and getting her drunk last night and then making her play it on the way home, today we went for a six mile walk and she had it open the entire time catching 'mons and tagging stops for me :slol:

4 gyms and picked up a 454 Golduck today :datass:

Not sure if I've mentioned it but the co-working space I use full of programmers is a gym, which is just perfect, seeing as we already play Mario Kart and stuff there.

Might have to give that a try.

Thanks!

Annoyingly it wouldn't let me have Lagamorph as my nickname, but was fine when I tacked my year of birth on the end. Either some twat has stolen the name, or its because of my Pokemon Trainer Club account. I did sign in using that but I wonder if my account being registered in the UK but using a US version if the app is causing issues.

I got talked to by police in Victoria Station because it looked like I was filming the fire exits when I was actually catching a Pidgey.

What happens when it turns out Niantic are actually an Islamist cell, collecting all this footage for surveillance purposes?
