Apparently this has gone live in certain locales, though not the UK, but apparently there are ways to get round this on Android.

Early indications seem like it's a big buggy but good fun otherwise.

Can't wait for it to drop properly!

Its live in America, on my way to work I found a Charmander and a Rattata, but I work in Brooklyn. My friend who's in Manhattan and walks passed a lot of landmarks caught 22 Pokemon this morning.

That does seem like an issue, I live in the country and theres nothing near my house, fair enough theres no gyms or anything but I at least thought there would be wild Pokemon popping up, apparently not. Very urban centric so.

Yeah you can buy coins that let you buy more pokeballs and things, you dont need to buy them though as you can get more items from pokeposts.

They should randomly appear, if not in items there is incense that should draw them out a bit :)

So whens this out for iphone in the UK? apparently you can play it now but you need to change your region to the US, New Zealand etc but also involves creating a new apple ID. So I think I'm just going to wait.

Yeah there much explanation :D

Basically, you catch everything, to evolve stuff and improve the you need stardust or what ever it is called, to evolve the candy if the base Mon you are evolving Pidgey Candy, Rattata Candy etc. To get then you catch that type and send to oak.

Gyms are held by a team (Red, Blue or Yellow) if it is the same colour as your team (you pick at lvl5) it will train you, if it is another team you can best them to take it for your team.

Hope that helps.

I installed this earlier. Caught a Charmander as my starter Pokémon, and that's it so far. I had a look at the map, and the leisure centre at the end of the road is a shop, but when I went out and passed it, I opened the app, but it just hangs at the log in screen now. I'll see if it does anything tomorrow.

I also noticed the train station near here is an unclaimed gym, so it might be nice to see if I can get that before anyone else does.

Would installing it early, or when not available, prevent it from receiving updates?

Yes, but when they release you just uninstall it and install the play store one.

Yeah, but I was just wondering if that would be the reason I can't log in, now. Not sure if I can be bothered with playing it early if it means having to uninstall and reinstall every time an update is pushed.
