That looks pretty fun. I like the idea of an openworld to explore and the BOTW-styled environments look neat. It'll be interesting to hear if the more hardcore Pokéfans have these same thoughts.

It looks like a prototype build of what could be a great game.

Real hard-core Pokéfans aren't watching the trailer because we know we want it and want to go in unspoiled. ;)

Heehee! Bravo, Balla! I totally get that approach; nowdays we often know too much about games before we play them :-).

Gameplay and progression seems they'll be good. But it does still seem a bit sparse.
It will definitely be a fun experience, though.

Will you be jumping aboard on release day, Rula?

Is that not what everyone said with Sword and Shield in regards to the Wild Area etc?

Game Freak are particularly bad for it as well. One of the great things about the original games was the sense of mystery surrounding them, which allowed legends like Pikablu and Mewthree to spring up. Now GF want you to know each and every new monster months before the games release.

It kind of looks like the Wild Area just on a bigger scale to me?

I didn't play Sword/Shield though so just going off what I saw.

This still looks like an idea GameFreak are toying with for the mainline series, hopefully the English trailer will drop this afternoon so we can hear the narrator describe the gameplay loop but I still really don't see what the main goal of this game is :shifty: like, what's the story, what is the end game, is it purely to just fill up the pokedex?

This is a problem everywhere these days. Film trailers reveal the whole plot. Feels like some bands release half an album in singles in the build up to release.

It's a shame!

And it feels so unnecessary with Pokémon, which is obviously going to do gangbusters even with minimal trailerage. :(

Framerate looks better than the last trailer.

Yeah the game looks decent but as others (and I) have said, I think it needs a bit more time in the oven, especially given it's such a brave departure from what Gamefreak usually do.

I'm fully expecting this to be a 6 or 7/10 with some new ideas and structure, a good setting and an interesting deviation.from what is a rpetty hackneyed formula.

I have a feeling it's going to have quite a bit of repetition and maybe quite barren landscapes, basically a bit like a watered down Monster Hunter.

If that is the case (and I wouldn't be surprised), I really can't fathom why they're pushing it out in January so soon after the last Pokemon game.

When February arrives, a Pokémon Presents airs, and the hype cycle of Generation Nine has started, then you'll have the answer.

I really can't see any other reason why it's coming so soon after the last game.
