Grinding the satchels is easy as when you have access to all the regions and Braviary too, this is one aspect I’d love them to continue, obviously different cover legendary Pokémon but no reason why the rest can’t be accessed all in both games and evolved without the need to trade as well.

The main issue is rng. Everything is available in Legends Arceus, but distortions kinda ruin it. I had to wait on like 5 distortions before I got a porygon. Such a huge amount of time just sitting in-game doing nothing and waiting for the game to say "okay, now you can have it lol". Likewise for the link cables mori needed. Yes, you can consistently grind satchels to get them, but it takes far too many. There's virtually no effort required to travel anywhere in the game, especially once you have Braviary, so just travelling to points on a map to farm a currency is pretty dull. And then the alternative is waiting an undeterminate amount of time. Thankfully the majority of these pokemon can be obtained in the field anyway, so you don't need that many of those items. I don't think you can get some of them via side-quests though, or even as drops from pokemon.

Memento Mori wrote:Wild alpha steelix found! This is going very well, think I'd only have to grind satchels for either weavile or magmortar if I don't get lucky in a distortion.

You can get magmarizers from the special salesman guy by your house. But again, whether he offers it to you is rng, so just keep checking I guess.

It definitely needs some tweaking on the RNG side of things, even waiting around for a distortion to form, you’re still not guaranteed one will appear until you’ve been waiting for 40 (or maybe an hour? I can’t remember) minutes of doing nothing which is a bit boring to say the least.

It was definitely longer than 20 minutes when I found myself waiting for them.

Having double checked it’s every 5 minutes you have the chance and every 5 the % goes up with it reaching 100% at 40 minutes

And even then, it's only 'appearing', you have to wait another 5 minutes or so after that for it to actually 'appear'.

It definitely hit the 40 minutes for me when I was in the post game, kind of wished I’d done them all when they appeared rather than carrying on.

Then you have to get lucky with what rocks up.

Only missing the last 6 legendary pokemon including arceus now.

It's extremely strange from a story perspective that only after the credits roll do you fight the antagonist behind all the events in the game.

Arceus caught! Really enjoyable game which was a nice change from the formula but too dependent on RNG. Going to do a bit of the daybreak update and grind for grit items to level up some of the pokemon I want to use again. Thinking of boosting a gengar, electivire, magmortar and mismagius.

Final team was:

Samurott
Typhlosion
Goodra (Alpha)
Espeon
Lucario (Alpha)
Gliscor (Alpha)

Now if only Nintendo were to update Home.

Congrats on catching Arceus! I was wondering if you were still needing anything as I’ve got a couple of days off now so could have had a good look for anything you were missing, obviously not needed now! What did you think of it overall?

Home update when Scarlet and Violet comes out :datass:

I’m actually surprised we’re getting it before Scarlet and Violet

Means I can finally play through Legends again without worrying about the dex as I can just transfer everything in before catching Arceus and maybe a quick run of BDSP (or two…… :shifty:)

How do IVs work with using Home to transfer between games?

Like I have a whole bunch of decent IVs and shinies in Pokemon go but I am guessing IV and levels get randomised as soon as they leave a specific game?

Read a comment on Reddit that Pokémon in Legends have IVs but the game doesn’t make use of them (guess it’s for Home reasons and future games). I believe ones from Go do get randomised when they get put into Home, like when trading in Go and everything gets rerolled on the other end.
