Sounds like a Monster Hunter plot. Arceus is close enough to an Elder Dragon right?

Arceus is basically a/the god Pokémon.

Gameplay looking decent.

Shame it looks like an early PS3 game.

Hopefully it plays well enough to outweigh that.

I'm going to humbly suggest that any videos with new Pokémon in the thumbnail might want to be spoilered from now on. Discovering new monsters is the best part of the games, after all!

That said... when do Pinsir and Heracross get evolutions? Scyther has two now, damn it!

Looks great, visuals haven’t changed much from when we last saw it so imagine that’s probably as good as it’s going to look for the most part (still looks fine to me though), gameplay looks great though!

In my day there was no way of not knowing all the Pokemon before hand and we liked it that way

All the pokemon in gameplay in that trailer are in the foreground, maybe at 2:00 is the furthest on show? Still not confident about the draw distance/pop-in for pokemon out in the wild then. We don't ever see that many at once either, and they don't appear to be doing anything other that idling/moving - I don't think this is going to come close to the sometimes bustling natural habitats of Pokemon Snap (not that it was ever going to compete with that game's scripted behaviours).

The photo studio looked fun though...

Wut?

It was easy to not see pokemon before playing the game.

Well that’s just how I remember it growing up. Every Pokemon plastered every where. Impossible to not learn all about them

While it’s always good to have some surprises I quite like knowing a decent amount of the available Pokémon just so I have a few that I know will definitely be on my team.

Yea, really unimpressed graphically. I'm not normally one to whine about TEH GRAFFIX but it's just really underwhelming. Especially as it doesn't seem to have a particularly unique or thoughtful art style, it's just looks flat and empty. Hopefully it can be carried mechanically; I liked the fact that you as the trainer appear to be physically vulnerable too which is a neat touch. And I'm definitely looking forward to the idea of feudal Japanese villages as hubs, so hopefully they've got a bit of a bustling atmosphere to them. But visually it just looks like they've done literally the bare minimum.

I liked the towns in Sword/Shield, they had a lot of life and character to them and gave that proper RPG town feeling, so you'd hope these would be just as good (albeit smaller to fit the setting and the open-worldness as they need to be fully explorable).

From about 1:10 - 1:50 in the latest trailer though we get quite a few looks at a village (or at least its main street) and it doesn't particularly look full of life. We never see anyone moving around - that might be because it's all cutscenes or dialogue, but it kind of looks like everyone is just standing still in their place, and quite strictly one person in front of each building which suggest that is "their spot". Hopefully the actual game has more movement and variety than that.
