Aaaaaaand that game can go strawberry float itself.
What
It’s just gyro for aiming, which is easier anyway
The issue is that you have no non-gyro
option for it.
Some people don't like motion controls and some people are physically incapable of motion controls but could potentially have played otherwise if there had been an option to disable them.
I seriously hope they don't pull this bullshit in the mainline game next year.

I hate motion controls, they are semi tolerable when you are at home but our and about you just look like a dickhead.
strawberry floating Nintendo need to stop this bloody fascination with motion gooseberry fool and accept that not everyone wants to use it and provide for those that don't.

It is pretty shocking that there isn't even an option to turn them off. Kind of flies in the face of the "oh it's an accessible pokemon game that's why it hasn't got random battles or grinding" arguments.
No reason they couldn't give you a choice other than just laziness. Really hope it doesn't do very well commercially but I've been let down before

Not giving the player the option makes no sense, hopefully it'll have enough comments made about it that they might feel the need to do something about it.

Well to be fair, in this instance it’s Game Freak not Nintendo. Every Nintendo game that has motion control options on Switch has the option to use an alternative non-motion control scheme instead.
I don’t think it’s fair to say they need to stop their fascination with motion gooseberry fool when in some cases, like gyro, it’s a superior control method to analogue stick. Splatoon 2 with no motion control would be a step backwards for example. And its not even that noticeable when you tilt the screen so I really don’t see how it’s making you look a “dickhead” in public.
I do agree that there’s no reason they couldn’t offer people the choice (like Nintendo usually do). Seems abit much to me to not buy the game over that fact alone though if you otherwise would have.

Well I've got my pre order in for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and the Poke' Ball Plus, I can see the Poke' Ball plus being sold out an awful lot so I thought I'd get an order in as I really want one.

Probably a good idea. If it's anything like the Go Plus it'll be a pain in the arse to buy for months.

They're gonna do a bundle of the game with that Pokeball thing, dread to think how much it's gonna cost. Bet you won't get much change from £100.

for the game's release in November. I think that people are reading too much into the lack of random battles. My take from that and the trailer was that wild Pokémon would not attach you randomly but would appear in the overworld for you to engage at will. I'm looking forward to learning more and maybe even engaging in some jolly co-operation
The thread is yours, boi.

With forced gyro aiming that means I can't play it in handheld mode, dam.

The minigame changes to make it more accessible in handheld mode -- it becomes less 'throw the ball' and more 'point and click', like shooting an arrow in Zelda.
(I'm not saying this to defend the forced gyro, which I still think is dumb.)

Watched the whole Treehouse presentation and so glad it seems to be a lot, lot closer to the traditional games than it initially looks. Looks like the 3D Pokemon I've wanted since the N64
