I think it just takes an extortionate amount of candies (400) to evolve him right? Or you walk 20km 400 times.

Not sure how he levels up in Let's Go, but I think it allows you to catch/encounter more Meltan in Go and amass candies quicker?

Does he level up through battling in Let's Go?

Yes it seems Meltan only evolves in GO then has to be sent across.

I'm really enjoying this so far. Even though it is a simpler Pokèmon to what had been happening from Pearl through to Sun/Moon, it somehow hits that nostalgic part of me. I remember playing Blue/Red/Yellow for hours back in 2000, training up the squads without abilities and IV's/EV's, mega evolutions, overly contrived catches like the stupid fish from Ruby. This game is pure Pokemon at its core and I'm loving trying out Mon that I wouldn't normally try.

My current team is Nidoking, Victreebel, Arcanine, Alola Ninetails, Golduck and Eevee.

So I spent the best part of an hour just looking for a Scyther last night, I actually ran into one as soon as I started looking but that was literally the only one I found despite getting 10 + catch combos of Venomoth and Tauros.

Just beat the 7th Gym.

Got my Chameleon evolved thanks to the Pokeball Plus. Just got to Fuchsia City, so now I can finally trade.

Slightly late to the party, but I've just installed Pokemon Go.

I feel like it doesn't have a great tutorial, and, possibly because I don't stop walking when I'm playing, most of my throws miss wildly, but I've been impressed by it so far.

Edit- My FC is 4806 9928 3731 if anyone has gone back to it and wants some competition.

I’m a pain for doing this anyway, I’ve been doing it for all legendary Pokémon since Diamond and Pearl (plus timer balls looked cool as back in gen 3 so didn’t mind using them), more of a challenge and the standard Poke ball just looks neat.

I’ll certainly be doing it again for Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo in Let’s Go to carry on my weird, pointless obsession

Not to cause a spoiler but the master ball is designed to be used with Mewtwo and if used on it you get an awesome cut scene!

I’ve beaten the 8th gym and went back to Power Plant. I got Zapdos but it took a while to catch it.

Just over 19 hours on the clock for this and i’vejust beat the 6th gym and now on my way to Seafoam Islands! My team now level 49 or 50 right now

Back again after a while! While I’m loving some little touches, there are places where the game feels noticeably more empty than the originals. Less interactive houses (no bin-searching!), bike shop all but pointless, the man who trades you Dux in the originals having a useless house, and most of all - the gameless coinless Game Corner.

On the other hand Venonat is an absolute cutie.

Yeah, I was actually surprised you couldn’t play anything in the Game Corner, a waste really.

It's not even a gambling arena now, as all the machines resemble arcade units and they reference past spin-off games. Why not just put smaller versions of the games as playable? I'm sure there's a few people who wonder what a HD Dash would look like.

What happens if you move a shiny over from Go to Lets go? Will it remain shiny?

i believe so

Caught my first legendary bird (Articuno) and put him in my team in Pidgeots place......not I feel really bad I have taken him out he has been in my team since the beginning

Had exactly same thing earlier but my Pidgeot was replaced with Mewtwo. The guilt got to me and Mewtwo is now resigned to the Pokemon box!
