How could you name the most entertaining Team Rocket members to ever grace our TV screens incorrectly?
At least you sent them blasting off again.

...haha! I'm *terrible* at remembering names and I just can't think what they were! Perhaps their names began with "J"...

Fake edit: Ah! I googled and, yes... Jessie and James!

Fake edit: "Rocket League" instead of "Team Rocket" :fp:  ... .

So what else can be done with the Pokeball plus? What's this I hear about transferring Pokemon to it, what does that do?

You can transfer a Pokemon onto it and walk around and it tracks your steps and you get experience for it.

Also "Rocket League twins" :slol:

It works as a pedometer and you can transfer a Pokemon to it to level them up when you go for a walk. It works like a Go Plus with Go but it automatically spins Pokestops if you have a Pokemon transferred to it.

Would anyone with Pikachu version like to do some link traders for the version exclusives (Oddish, Sandshrew, Growlithe, Sycther, Mankey) and trade evos (Haunter, Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler)?

I would do but I've not bought the Switch online yet take it that's needed for trading?

strawberry float, neither do I. That hadn't even occurred to me. God damn Nintendo :(

You might be able to do it using the week-long trial?

(No idea if that still works, but worth a shot)

Pretty sure online is behind the paywall.

You can also do it locally (for free obviously) I believe if you know anyone else who has it.

Just beat LT. Surge but damn was I underleveled for that fight! My Pikachu is lvl 23 whilst the rest of my team are around 20/21! Took out his Voltorb by self destructing with Geodude then had to use a combo of the rest of my team along with lots of super potions.

Good battle though, glad it’s not as easy as people originally thought

By switching around my team a lot I’ve not found myself overlevelled at all, with the possible exception of Darwin the Eevee.

NEWSFLASH: Venonat is suddenly adorable.

It's great for levelling up shite like Magikarp. I wonder if it's like the Pokewalker and Pokemon miss out on learning moves if you use it though.

Nope. I got to pick moves from levels I whizzed past.

I wonder if Nintendo will end up nerfing this. I sort of hope they don't. My two eldest cheered yesterday when I told them we were walking home. Walking suddenly yields great rewards.

Gets folk to buy the controller, because it's practically useless within the game itself.

I like it a lot.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Yeah my battle with Surge was a bit touch and go. Gyarados came through at the end. Little fist pump moment.

I have to say I do actually really like the wild encounters. More than I thought I would actually! Really enjoy doing catch chains for exp and finding strong pokemon.

I think it's nice that in Go and presumably this (can't play it) there's some degree of gambling sort of chance and skill in throwing/curveballs to get the stronger pokemon, which is quicker and more exciting in the moment, rather than just hitting them over and over again with the same moves and inevitably killing them off by accident before throwing the pokeball. I mean it's fair that a Pokemon might escape at any moment because it's a wild animal, but they're not strawberry floating invisible. Traditional Pokemon gets waaaaay too repetitive, Sun & Moon are meant to be a big improvement on that but the GB games grate to play nowadays imo. That flashing random battle animation can strawberry float off 90% of the time, I just end up using Repels all the time until I want to capture pokemon. Random battles in general piss me off in RPGs, it makes no sense whatsoever in a more logical game design nowadays. It exists because you can't draw so many sprites on screen back then, which harks back to the 8-bit era. Also sometimes I just want to wander around and see cool monsters, Pokemon-snap style, without being buggered by them every 30 seconds.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

In the same way though, the Berry > Ball > Breakout loop to try and catch something gets repetitive, especially when a pokemon repeatedly breaks out for no real reason. The traditional method of catching at least gives you a little more choice of what you can do.

I took down Misty in the second gym last night. Was a pretty close-run thing as I haven't quite got the hang of choosing the right Pokemon types yet and so a few 'mon fainted during the battle. The gameplay is so enjoyable and I'm glad I finally entered the world of Pokemon.

I've not been particularly grinding, I spent maybe 10 mins just catching Pokemon for a bit last night. I have blasted past the first three gyms mainly using just Pikachu. A couple of occasions I had to switch type, but honestly 95% of battles I can get by with just Pika doing the work.
